24.01.2022 || JUNIOR SEASON CANCELLATION || To our amazing Ballarat Soccer Club Community, Whilst we all wish that we were gearing up for finals now that it is August, this year has thrown us curve ball after curve ball. ... A few weeks ago the Clubs & BDSA made the tough call to cancel the Senior Season. In line with the most recent Government announcements and taking into consideration the health and safety of our members, the BDSA & Clubs have decided to now cancel the remainder of the Junior Season. This isn't an announcement that was made lightly. We have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the Junior teams playing on a Sunday and it was great to be able to add some structure to their weeks. Myself & the committee cannot thank you all enough. To the Coaches, you have all done a fabulous job keeping everyone motivated during a weird time where there was so much unknown. To the players, your determination to want to play and to stand by the club shows that we have an amazing playing group who we hope to see next year as well. To our broader Ballarat Soccer Club community, thank you for standing by and being so patient through all the weird times this year! Stay tuned for any further updates in the coming months, our hope is to have something up and running over summer and gear ourselves up for hopefully a much less stressful 2021 season. 23.01.2022 The Ballarat Soccer Club wishes to send their deepest condolences to Ken's family, friends, the Forest Rangers and all local referees. As a lot of you will know, Ken dedicated many years to Ballarat soccer and the Forest Rangers Soccer Club. He was a very friendy and approachable person and will be missed by the entire soccer community. Rest peacefully Ken.

20.01.2022 || FFA CUP - STATE LEAGUE MEN || Our state league men played their first match of the FFA Cup yesterday against Glen Waverley Soccer Club . The scores were deadlocked at 1-1 at half time in what was a hard fought contest.... The visitors scored mid way through the second half but our boys kept up the fight, equalising late in the second half. A penalty shoot out was needed to decide the winners to which our boys were unsuccessful. Jack Sheehan scored both our goals. A big thanks to Glen Waverly SC for the game. Good luck for the rest of the FFA Cup and your state league season. The boys can now look forward to some friendlies prior to our first round match in March.

19.01.2022 || 1 year ago today || We woke up after one of the proudest days in the clubs recent history. We had 4 team featuring in Grand Finals and by the end of the day were 4x champions.... Our brilliant U14s won in a thriller against Bacchus Marsh. After falling behind twice, they fought hard and pushed the game to extra time. Ballarat was the better team for most of the match and eventually won in penalties. Our U17s played North in the final. One of our most successful teams in recent history, our U17s were out to win 3 in a row. The match went to penalties and our boys showed their class and experience. Our Division 2 men took on the league winners, Vikings. Ballarat had the best start by scoring in the 3rd minute. Our boys never slowed down and won the match 4-0. Such an enjoyable match to watch. Our women dominated their season and it was no surprise to see them in another Grand Final. They didn't lose a match all year and showed their class in the Grand Final. Ballarat had most of the chances during the match and eventually prevailed 2-1 after a goalless 2nd half. Here's to another successful 2021! Go Ballarat

19.01.2022 || BREAKING NEWS || Leo Messi has BACK-FLIPPED on his deal with McDonald's Ballarat City FC. Sources say he received a late offer from the club ‘down the road’ that he simply could not ignore.... The opportunity to be coached by Justin and Mabbitt was just too good to be true. Messi was quoted To have the chance to play on the hallowed turf of Trekardo Park and in such a beautiful, warm country. I just can’t wait to arrive. And damn, the kit looks so good on me. Looking forward to seeing you at preseason Leo!

We are so proud of how our members have conducted themselves this year and the continuous dedication, persistence and patience you have all shown.... Parents! Your work this year has been phenomenal both getting kids to training & games but also finding your feet in homeschooling. We are so ready to have everyone back next year, so many exciting things to come! 03.01.2022 How exciting is this? Our women played on Saturday and Sunday in the Geelong Womens Football Tournament. It was their first hit out together as a team and first time playing against State League opposition.... Many of these teams feature in leagues above our girls so you'll be impressed when you see their results! Competition results- Ballarat 0-0 Lara Ballarat 3-0 Lara Ballarat 2-0 Fawkner Ballarat 1-3 North Geelong Ballarat 2-0 Fans XI Ballarat 3-1 Sydenham Won 4, Draw 1, Loss 1 11 Goals for, 4 Goals against, +7 Goal difference.
