19.01.2022 The return of another son, Liam Van Der Heyden. Last year we saw the well-publicised returns of half of the Infinities alumni vs Curtin, Jeremy Smith, Adrian Sc...herpenzeel, Tim Carslaw and Sean Ashton with the latter two getting on the field for our GF game. We have now seen the return of Brendan Vorster and Aden Kambouris to bolster our squad for next season. This club is proving once again that home is where the heart is, with the return of Liam Van Der Heyden back to the Library. Liam is a very talented young player with huge potential. Head Coach, Alex Stajka said, "I've known Liam for a while now and I'm really pleased to have secured his services for next season. He's a big ball carrier and a very hard hitter, which really adds some firepower to our pack. Liam sees what we are building and really wants to be a part of UWA's future success." Please join me in welcoming Liam back to the Uni family.

18.01.2022 RugbyWA Grand Finals with all matches for all grades will be held on Saturday the 10th of October at UWA Sports Park - McGillivray Oval, Mount Claremont. Altho...ugh we are operating under strict COVID-19 guidelines, it's a great opportunity to support community sport and enjoy a great day out with plenty of food and drinks in a family-friendly environment. It'll also be the only way to watch these games live! To cover costs, there will be an $8 entry fee for adults, $5 for concession and FREE for kids under 16, which is still lower than previous years. We hope you’ll come to support and enjoy the day. Look forward to seeing you there. 12.01.2022 What is club culture? How about describing it through our Premier Grade loosehead prop Luke Oosthuizen and his Under 12 team? Oosty, along with fellow merry ge...ntleman Keano Van Dieman, gives up his time each week to train our UWA junior players. Having spoken to them, they are both passionate about coaching, despite the odd complaint about how the boys don't listen. I'm sure any junior (and senior?) coach would sympathise. Whether they listen or not, they appreciate him. To show their appreciation, the U12s formed the tunnel for Oosty's GF game yesterday, dressed as their favourite coach. A lot of clubs talk the talk about a strong club culture. Even ours is imperfect, ever-changing and requires a lot of maintenance. But events like these show that culture at Uni Rugby is more than just talk. It's what makes us proud to be a part of this special club.

10.01.2022 Yet another young and very talented player has decided to join this club for the 2021 season. Mayson Hill is a formidable young talent that has previously been ...a part of numerous state representative teams as well as the Future Force Academy. Head Coach, Alex Stajka said, "I've known Mayson for a while and already had the pleasure of coaching him. I was delighted when he approached me about playing rugby at UWA with his cousin Regi. He's a young man with massive potential. He's going to add some speed, power and flare to our backline. This guy is someone to watch very closely if he makes the most of his ability, I have no doubt he will be heading to the next level very soon." Please welcome Mayson to the UWA family!

04.01.2022 Good evening Uni Rugby family, two last events before what has been a most unusual season is laid to rest. The first is the Juniors Grand Finals which will be hosted at McGillivray Oval and for which the committee will need as many volunteers as we can muster as this is a huge responsibility and a fantastic fundraiser, speak to your team manager for details. The second is the juniors presentation, sandwiched crudely (who would have expected anything less this year) between the junior finals and the start of the cricket season, Sunday 18th at 10am - 12pm is the time set aside.
