This time of the year we are usually opening our gates for the first day of the Ballarat Spring Show. Unfortunately, we can't bring you a show this year due to COVID-19, however we can bring you some fun competitions across the weekend. Today we are introducing you to Maybelle the dairy cow, who was the Supreme Diary Exhibit at last years Sp...ring Show. Watch the video and tell us in the comments below how much milk you think Maybelle produces in 24 hours. You have until Sunday to post your answer. The answer closest to Maybelle's actual milk production will be the winner. The winner will be announced Monday 16 November. Any persons associated with this animal or farm is ineligible for entry. 14.01.2022 #ThrowbackThursday For the first time since World War II, the annual Ballarat Show will not be held this weekend due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Ballarat A...gricultural & Pastoral Society dates back to 1856, when 20 men competed in a ploughing competition on Messer Baird's farm between Ballarat, Burrumbeet and Creswick. Creswick Road's Ballarat Showgrounds has hosted the Ballarat Show since 1933. But, never fear, plans are already underway for the 2021 Ballarat Show, which we're sure will be bigger and better than ever before! The Ballarat Show in 1992 (The Courier)

07.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who is sending in their Kitchen Garden Competition Forms. We are really excited to see all the wonderful produce that the Ballarat community are growing. In response to enquiries, we are extending the competition boundaries for entry - we will now accept entries from up to 30km outside of the City of Ballarat council boundaries! So get your entry in before its too late. Make sure you include some images - especially while everything is growing so quickly in this wild Spring weather!
