24.01.2022 AM Update: Our drive through COVID-19 testing clinic at Orion shopping centre in Springfield is open today from 9am to 4pm and every day until Friday, 7 August.... We are sorry there will be a long wait, so please bring along water and food and be aware children under 5 need to be tested at another clinic for safety reasons. Mater Private Hospital Springfield is opening a temporary testing clinic from tomorrow, Saturday 1 August to Sunday 2 August from 8am to 4pm. It is a walk in only COVID-19 testing clinic and is located in the car park on Mercy Avenue. GP referrals are not necessary but if you do have a referral please bring it with you. Remember, there are MANY OTHER testing options, including calling and making a booking through your local GP, calling 13HEALTH to discuss your symptoms, or attending another testing clinic in your area. You can go to the Queensland Health website and search for clinic locations by postcode: https://www.qld.gov.au//stay-inf/testing-and-fever-clinics Here is a list of clinics in Metro South area: https://www.metrosouth.health.qld.gov.au//fever-clinic-loc Here is a list of clinics in Metro North area: https://www.metronorth.health.qld.gov.au/news/fever-clinics Here is a list of clinics in West Moreton area: https://www.westmoreton.health.qld.gov.au/coronavirus Read the latest Queensland Health public health alert here: https://www.health.qld.gov.au//public-health-alert-west-mo The advice for all other people is that they should seek testing if they have symptoms, even if very mild. The symptoms to look out for are: fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, fatigue, loss of smell and/or taste. It is also very important that you wash your hands often and remain at least 1.5m from other people when you go out in public. If you are sick, you must not go out at all, except to be tested, and then you must stay at home, away from other people, until your test returns a negative result and you are free of symptoms. 05.01.2022 ** Information about Natural Disaster Declarations ** I know a number of people are asking about whether Saturday's storms will be declared a 'natural disaster'... under the National Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements. I am following this up for our community through a number of Government agencies - however, we are still in 'caretaker government' following the State Election on Saturday, so it is a bit more complicated regarding official decisions. As soon as I have further information, I will share it with the community on my page. Closed Facebook groups don't allow access to FB pages, so my apologies, but I am unable to respond directly through these. You can also contact my office directly on (07) 3447 9300 or [email protected] if you require further assistance.
