25.01.2022 ALL WALKING FOOTBALL CLUBS INVITED TO ATTEND - WE ARE ANTICIPATING 14-18 teams from Coolum, Buderim, Ballina, Gold Coast, Redcliffe (Penny Power) and of course our own Brisbane teams. Sydney is also very welcome too Ian, but understand you have committed to April at QUT

25.01.2022 20 Players turned up last Thursday. Things are looking good. We had five a side games, then finished with 10 a side game. We then finished the night with a cold beer.

13.01.2022 We had our first game in the new Ballina indoor sports center last Sunday and we all enjoyed playing there. It looks like this could be our go to place if the weather is bad and for running comps with the Brisbane boys if the hockey fields are not available. The staff there are very helpful and are really keen for us to play there regularly.

12.01.2022 Another great competition in Brisbane yesterday. We had 2 over 50`s teams, 1 over 60`s team and 1 ladies team competing and at the end of the day the ladies, the over 60`s and the over 50`s winning their divisions. The over 60`s team scored 17 goals and only conceded 1. A fantastic effort from everybody concerned. The bus trip home was just like the good old days with plenty of cold beers and plenty of singing.

06.01.2022 Great tournament at Brisbane on September the 8th, the over 60`s never lost a game and won their group.

06.01.2022 It all began in late 2018. John Galletly had been trying to get walking football going for quite a while, but could not seem to get any body interested even after sending flyers out to all the local clubs etc. Jimmy Britton one of the coaches at Ballina soccer club was handed one as a joke as he was the oldest coach there (65), he then phoned John to organize a meeting, we then got Ian Bishop another coach at Ballina, a spring chicken at 59 involved, then as luck would have i...t Paul Connellan who had also been trying to get people interested in playing walking football was given John`s number and we all got together. We then got some more people involved and had a few small games, but we were still struggling for numbers. Paul then got in touch with the local papers, they wrote a few articles and then the interest began. Henri Rennie then got on board to help organize the group. We now have 22 men and women playing on a Thursday night at Saunders oval Ballina. See more

02.01.2022 The club is going from strength to strength. 65 men and women on our books now, this time last year we had about 10. We always knew it would take off eventually, the hard part was convincing people that it was so much fun and to have a go at it.
