25.01.2022 GET READY TO WELCOME QANTAS 737's QANTAS will be introducing 737’s to our existing Sydney flight schedule with the 1st flight set to touch down on our runway Monday 9th of November. These larger aircraft which also have 12 business class seats, will service our airport with up to 11 flights per week until early December and then a daily service until end of March 2021.... Also included in the latest flight schedule are three new QANTAS Link morning flights taking-off from our airport at 7.30am on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays great for an earlier start and for catching forward connecting flights within the QANTAS network. 24.01.2022 A NSW Rural Fire Service aircraft is in town conducting flight tests as part of the aircraft’s preparation for summer. Operated by Coulson Aviation Australia on behalf of the RFS, the Cessna Citation is an intelligence gathering aircraft. It’s one of two Citations owned by the RFS. You might see it around for a few days as the flight tests continue.

20.01.2022 It’s not just baggage you need to check in at the airport! Ballina Byron Gateway Airport has long had a QR Code check in process, however from today it is MANDATORY to check in at all workplaces and retail businesses. This continues to apply to all airport staff and passengers. Departing passengers need to check in at the terminal entry, and arriving passengers must check in when they disembark.... 14.01.2022 Important COVID-19 Update NSW Health has confirmed a Virgin flight travelling from Sydney to Ballina has been added to NSW’s list of COVID-19 exposure sites. NSW Health has advised anyone who travelled or worked on Virgin Flight VA 1139 on July 14 must get tested and isolate for 14 days from the date of exposure, regardless of the result of the test. ... We would like assure all travellers and the general public that the Airport is COVID-safe and our health and safety measures remain stringent. We will continue to work with the airlines and the NSW Government to ensure the safety of passengers, staff and the community. It's now important all Ballina Shire residents remain vigilant and follow the current NSW Health advice. At this time, the significantly-reduced flight schedule is operating as normal. These measures continue to be in place at the Ballina Byron Gateway Airport: Mandatory check in at all workplaces and retail businesses Mandatory check in for all departing passengers at the terminal entry, and arriving passengers when they disembark. As the COVID-19 outbreak in the Sydney region evolves, passengers travelling to or from Sydney via Ballina Byron Gateway Airport are urged to stay up to date with the latest NSW Health advice at nsw.gov.au/covid-19 regarding travel restrictions and mask wearing rules. Ballina Byron Gateway Airport and our airline partners continue to closely follow all Federal and State Government public health orders. The following measures remain in place at the airport: Contactless temperature testing for departing passengers at entry to the terminal building.
