25.01.2022 SQUAREONE BIKE TT 13 SEP-20 & PACE ATHLETIC RUN TT 1 17 SEP-20 RESULTS NOW AVAILABLE Results, results everywhere! With the amount of racing that’s happened during the past week, things feeldecidedly normal. What a lovely change to the past six months! Congratulations to all BTC members who got stuck into the first two events of BTC Time Trial Week #1 the one-lap (23km) option at the SquareOne Bike Time Trial on 13 Sep and the 5km Pace Athletic Run Time Trial on 17 Sep. ...All results are now available via the BTC results page here - http://www.balmoraltriclub.org.au/race-results You’ve all earned some very valuable points toward the BTC Age Group Competition (points tally to come) and (if you were lucky) picked up a lucky draw prize at last night’s run TT courtesy of club sponsor Pace Athletic. Hopefully that made the leg and lung burn worth it! Special mentions to: club juniors Cavan, Connor, Declan and Kya smashing it up at the bike TT, with Declan and Kya then backing up and joining another junior Cooper at the run TT. BTC juniors are certainly making it tough for the adult members and their old worn out legs; new members Matt Nelson, Max Gaubert and Jonathan ‘Jonty’ Brunner who got stuck right into club business, finishing toward the top of the run TT results. Looks like there are some new guns in town; and finally but maybe most importantlyto Jean Kevans, who completed her first bike time trial after saying that she would not do a triathlon because she couldn’t/wouldn’t ride a bike. Jean beat her own expectations by coming in nearly five minutes under one hour. There’s some inspiration for all of us. Whew, that’s a lotand TIME TRIAL WEEK HASN’T YET FINISHED! Next up we have the Home Loan Guy’s 1km Swim Time Trial 3pm on Saturday at Balmoral Beach. For more info about BTC swim TTs head to http://www.balmoraltriclub.org.au/races. We are due some rain but you know what? You’re gonna get wet anyway so you might as well just get stuck in and go for a swim (for 1kmslightly faster than normal). See you in the brine! We are currently trying to reorganise accomodation at Sevan Apartments for Friday 13 and Saturday 14 November and will let you know more as soon as we can. ... 17.01.2022 BTC 2020-21 TIME TRIAL WEEK #1- 13-19 SEPTEMBER Spring is finally here, and with it, a new season beckons. We at BTC are delighted to kick off the 2020-21 season with a bang, giving you the opportunity to put down an early-season marker or three and earn valuable points in the 2020-21 Club Age Group Competition. This season we will be running our time trials in dedicated Time Trial Weeks the first of which will run 13-19 September. And, thanks to our friends at Warringah T...ri Club, TT Week 1 will include a 20km bike TT! 17.01.2022 Here’s commitment for you! Club member and snow bird (migrates to warmer climes over winter) Gerard Renton arrived back from Thailand this week and went straight into mandatory 14 days quarantine at a CBD hotel. Gerard hasn’t let a little thing like ‘not being able to leave the room’ get in the way of some training, getting a relative to drop off his bike and trainer at the hotel so he can make the most of his time in COVID related internment. 15.01.2022 BTC IS NOW COVID SAFE! While BTC open water swim has been running again for the past couple of weeks, we have had to cap the number of attendees pending implementation of a COVID Safe plan. Well, that is now done!... So, effective from this Saturday 25th July, the number of attendees at BTC open water swim training sessions will be unlimited (note: all attendees must still pre-register on-line)! However, as a part of our COVID Safe plan, there are a few things we need you, our lovely club members, to do/not do to ensure the safety of all attendees at BTC training sessions. 09.01.2022 BTC KIT SHOP NOW OPEN (CLOSES 16 SEPTEMBER) A reminder that the BTC kit shop #1 for the 2020-21 season is now open here - http://www.balmoraltriclub.org.au/clubkit With limited races on the horizon, this kit shop is offering front zip tri-suits (as modelled by the lovely gents in this pic) for the NSW Club Champs (‘if’ it goes ahead) and run singlets (perfect for summer training) only. ... From first hand experience, the run singlets are great! They are made of cool max material and are feather- light and super comfy...great for long runs and interval sessions. Ladies - if you prefer a looser kit I recommend the men’s cut for a more relaxed fit (the ladies cut is more form fitting), as the.hubby will attest to as he hasn’t had a chance to wear ‘his’ running vest yet as I have now commandeered it!!!
