23.01.2022 Meet Popeye, Pappy, Betty Boop & Olive our Parvovirus survivors Their survival story: These 4 beautiful unvaccinated puppies came into the shelter over 6 weeks ago via the council pound after being an unwanted litter. Within a few days of being in isolation they began to show signs of Parvovirus. Betty Boop & Olive were the first to show signs and had to spend 5 days at the vet on anti nausea medication, antibiotics and fluids. ... Pappy & Popeye hadn't yet started to show signs by the following week but luckily they were able to vaccinated. With the help of this vaccine they only displayed minor signs and didn't need veterinary assistance like their siblings. These puppies have since recovered and completed 4 weeks quarantine time to make sure they are no longer shedding the virus. Due to these puppies being in isolation for such a long time they have missed the chance to socialise and join a puppy preschool and be puppies! They are now ready for their forever homes and if you would like to meet them please give us a call or pop into the shelter. Please note as they are recovered from Parvovirus we will only be doing meet and greets with fully vaccinated dogs. Please remember Parvovirus is deadly and a simple vaccination can help! Is your puppy or dog up to date with their vaccinations, if not speak to your local vet clinic today! #rspcadarwin #vaccinateyourpets #parvovirus #parvovirussurvivor #donate #vet #recovered #adoptdontshop

21.01.2022 Hi my name is Chips Like my name i love food and of course I like my human friends too! Sometimes it takes some time for me to warm up to new people but once I know you I love your attention. I like to play with toys to make me feel comfortable but sometimes they get destroyed... thats what they are for right? If you have a place for me in your life come and meet me today. I get along with most medium to large dogs but sometimes I get a little over excited and forget my manners! I'm not suited to a home with small animals.

19.01.2022 Santa Paws photos are underway Thank you Flowpyre for donating your time again to capture everyone who booked in last weekend! Its was a great success Editing is underway for all the photographs taken, how exciting ... And a big thank you to Santa himself for coming to visit us early!

18.01.2022 On average it costs RSPCA Darwin approximately $500 to rescue, care for and find an animal a caring new home. With everyone feeling the financial strain at the moment, dollar matching fundraisers are a wonderful way for even the smallest donation to make a big difference. That's why on Thursday 1st October, for one day only, every donation made to RSPCA Darwin will be DOUBLED by our generous matching donors. Money raised will stay in Darwin and go directly to help homeless, ...neglected and abused animals, and support RSPCA Darwin’s animal welfare advocacy and education work. Your generous donation will go twice as far! Donate at: https://www.charidy.com/rspcadarwin

17.01.2022 BONSAI UPDATE - ADOPTED Once he was under anaesthetic the team at All Pets Vet realised how severe his dental disease was. Bonsai had an astonishing 33 teeth removed, only leaving him with 8 teeth! Bonsai has had a week to recover and had a recheck this morning by All Pets and he is healing up amazingly well ... Bonsai is now ready for a new home where he can live out his days cuddled up on the couch, follow you where ever you go and just be best buds. Bonsai is currently on foster with one of our amazing foster carers and applications can now be taken for his adoption. Please note due to his age the new owner must be aware that ongoing care for a senior pet will be required. He would suit an older family who is home most of the time, or a home that has another calm, senior dog who needs company. We would like to thank all those who donated towards Bonsai's much needed vet work! His surgery simply couldn't have been possible without your generosity

08.01.2022 Meet Surly If you are wanting a super affection and talkative cat, I'm your girl! I'm not too fond of other cats (can share a space together) or dogs that I have already met, but I would be suited to a house hold where I am your one and only girl! I was found as a stray but no one came looking for me. It is now my time to find a home where I can live it up indoors so I don't get lost again. #adoptdontshop #rspcadarwin #cat #torbie

04.01.2022 What do you call a 28kg lap dog? Lola! And here she is, the queen of lounge-surfing herself, ready to settle her not-insignificant rump next to you (or on you) for a good long session of TV or PlayStation or computering. Whatever you're doing, that's where Lola wants to be! She'll need a daily walk and a bit of a yard, but if you're looking for a cool chick to join your team, then Lola is the girl for you. #adoptdontshop #lola #rspcadarwin

02.01.2022 We have a great addition to our new meet-and-greet yards at the shelter! With HUGE thanks to funding from NT Government's Community Benefit Fund, we have been able to engage the unbelievable talent of the workers at HPA Helping People Achieve and in particular Kokoda Industries Winellie to design, construct AND deliver this outstanding outdoor furniture. I think you'll agree that this really makes the yards stand out, while providing a place for our customers to sit and meet our shelter dogs. Thank you to everyone for the support. Drop in sometime soon and have a look at the quality of this furniture.

01.01.2022 THERE'S STILL TIME!
