19.01.2022 2020 Winners The Aces team have won the Alexander Hall Community Trophy for the most funds raised $6286. A big shout out to Tony Arena who personally raised $5026. The Aces team has been raising funds for Children's Cancer Institute for more than 15 years and have raised over $150,000. 09.01.2022 We regret to advise that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the 2020 Balmoral Swim for Cancer scheduled on April 5 has been cancelled. This decision is in-line with the Government and Health advice and is in the interest of the health and wellbeing of our whole community. This event, which has been running now for more than 20 years, has raised over $1.5 million dollars for cancer research and supports the Childrens Cancer Institute goal to achieve Zero Childhood Cancer. This wo...uld not be possible without the ongoing support of our sponsors - this year particularly so because of the need to cancel the event, and so we would like to thank and further recognise our 2020 sponsors: Gold: Audi Centre Mosman, Dexus & URM Silver: Medlab Bronze: Jeckra, Edney Ryan Group & Goodman Our funding financial target has always been that the event operating costs are covered by Sponsorships, to maximise the funds raised from those participating in the event. This year the Event Entry Fees already received will be contributed to the Childrens Cancer Institute (CCI) and donation receipts issued to participants, unless we are advised by March 31, 2020 that a receipt is not required. Unfortunately, the impact of the reduction in donations generated by the swim is significant. The $300K that the Swim anticipated to be raised for the CCI, is the equivalent of three (3) researchers for 12 months. This is necessary for the continued research to achieve Zero Childhood Cancer. Therefore, on-line donations https://www.balmoralswim.com.au/campai/1/balmoral-swim-2020 will remain open and we will continue to raise funds without the swim occurring. We are reviewing what other initiatives may be possible and will announce these as appropriate. They are honouring the memory of their daughter/sister Sarah who died from a brain tumour 20 years ago at age 4. Each year, they participate in the Balmoral Swim and have both swum the English Channel to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. Watch their story.
