14.01.2022 THE BUB VISION: This initiative will have state wide representation. Seeing that this started from the group LOZA, here is an update of where we are thus far: ... We have put out a message to the ladies looking for 2 representatives from each state, for either North or South or however way the state is structured. WA - Perth we have representation already (names will be posted). We are however appealing if there are men in our community who would be interested in taking up such roles and they can help us reach males that have been impacted. Interested people can get in touch with Lucky Ngoshi or Shingy Mas if they would like to be a BUB Rep for their part of the state. Part of the BUB Rep’s role is to: Engage your local Zim Organizations to rope them in on this initiative. Coordinate and link a student/worker with people who approach you offering assistance. You are the first point of contact for anyone who might be in need or anyone who might want to help. Bring to the community what needs you have been presented with and bring also back to the community and we see how we can assist. If you are an International Student or a worker who is not receiving benefits and you have been impacted in the form of having lost your job or income somehow; please hang in there. We have decided to come with BUB- Bambanani Unite Batanai- a LOZA (Ladies of Zimbabwe in Australia) brainchild. It was initiated on LOZA however it’s meant for the benefit of all Zimbabweans in Australia.... We have all been impacted somehow, more so international students and other workers depending on their line of work. We can use this page to share ideas on how to cope during this pandemic. Of course you have to check with your Superfund and other bodies before you implement anything etc ... Skilled visa holders 457/482 etc 1-Able to withdraw $10,000 from superannuation for this financial year 2-Skilled visa holders stood down, but not laid off, will be able to have visas extended 3-Businesses can reduce skilled visa holders working hours without breaching sponsorship obligations 3-Time already spent in Australia prior to COVID pandemic will be counted towards permanent residency requirements. International students 1-Encouraged to rely on family support, part-time work and their own savings 2- if here longer for 12 months, can access superannuation withdraw $10,000 from superannuation for this financial year 3-Some institutions providing fee discounts. If working in aged care and as nurses then can work longer than 40 hours a fortnight already. MOST IMPORTANTLY: those already working in supermarkets on extended work rights will have these work rights cease on 1 May 2020 to normal 40 hours a fortnight because more Australians are going to be recruited to fulfill these roles. NZ444 in Australia before 26 Feb 2001 will have access to welfare and JobKeeper payments. Those arrived after 2001 have access to JobKeeper but not welfare. Cairns, QLD Adelaide, SA North Queensland which covers small towns like Rockhampton and Emerald Western part of Melbourne. Canberra Perth WE WILL POST THEIR NAMES. 2. We have received five accommodation offers for female students in: Sydney-Liverpool area x2 (different ladies) Perth- Byford South East Brisbane- Jimboomba South Coast- NSW As you can see from the accommodation offers; this initiative requires state wide representation. We are therefore looking for MALE representatives from each state for either North or South or however way your state is structured. Having male representation will help us to reach males who have also been negatively impacted. Please comment here or inbox Shingy Mas or Lucky Ngoshi if you would like to be a BUB Rep for your part of the state. We have had a few calls from 485 visa holders with 485 about to expire and cant travel, this will be the class for you to apply. Its a new visa, so we are still coming and learning as we go so i will sure be updating this post. So this does not allow only... to 485, this is anyone who really cant apply for any other visa. Please continue checking post as I will update as we go and learn of this new class. This visa could also potentially extend to those who are s48 barred. Still trying to work it all out.
