19.01.2022 It may have taken me 33 laps around the sun to be in a place where I let my 3yr old pick my clothes (currently rocking my mermaid outifit) living away from the beach in the Bush and loving it!!! (Yes it’s my bday today!) Thank you to all who did beautiful doorknock drops or presents, messages, planned dates, calls, the works, my beautiful husband who tried so hard yet had a threenager in tow who had her own ideas on the day, thankfully my teething 18mo was a gem ... 18.01.2022 Jagger Jaymes, you are both sassy and the sweetest cuddle pot out! We have made it 19 months baby girl! Nourishing your babe is as individual as our fingerprints and the best way is simply what is best for you and your little one, and family. I wouldn’t say BF is easy, it’s a sacrifice of body, time, patience and requires diligence of balancing exercise and food to ensure that I am making enough for her. There are nights I wish Dad could put her down or moments I wi...sh she would simply take a bottle from someone else. However then on the flip side, in the scheme of things it’s a short time. I have sacrificed so much and fought so hard for goes beyond simply feeding, it’s those moments.... you know the ones where their fingers tickle across your chest, they tilt their head back and give you a milky smile, they gaze into your eyes as though you are their world, they intertwine their fingers amongst yours..... these are the moments that create a bond for life and make the 24/7 Mama shifts worth it, as we don’t just provide food we provide comfort. I made it to 15mo with Aviana and am at 19mo with Jag, although only 3 feeds a day I am grateful for my body and my choices around food and exercise that enables me to continue to feed her. It’s a balance, if I am crazy strict on food and exercise then my milk supply drops, I am hoping Jag will self wean and I can focus on me however I know there will be a time when the sleep deprivation fades and my body is mine again that I will cherish this period. . . . And how they want the iPad for "just ten extra minutes" (except mine because they are so young they can go without for now and I am one of 'those parents’). 12.01.2022 GUILT FREE CRACKERS~>> Complete your next snack board with these Sweet Potato Paleo Crackers - only 7 ingredients needed & easy to make! | Grain Free + Vegan!!! | INGREDIENTS~>> ... 1 cup | 150 grams whole almonds 1/2 cup | 100 grams mashed sweet potato (nothing added to it) 1/2 cup | 50 grams tapioca flour + more for rolling out the dough 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped 2 tablespoons olive oil INSTRUCTIONS~>> Preheat the oven to 375F/190C Add the almonds to a blender or food processor and blend until you reach a sandy but flour-like texture. Transfer the almond meal to a large mixing bowl with the mashed sweet potato, tapioca flour, salt, rosemary and garlic powder. Stir in the olive oil. Mix everything until it all comes together to form a sticky dough. Sprinkle a little more tapioca flour over a large sheet of parchment paper. Place the dough on top of the paper and then place another sheet of parchment paper over the top. Roll out the dough between the paper until it's 1/8 inch thick. Peel back the top piece of paper and cut the dough into 1 inch squares. Transfer the squares to a lined or greased baking sheet. Leave a little bit of space between each square. Transfer the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes or until the tops are golden and edges are crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes. Save recipe for your next picnic or Arvo drinks and nibbles!! 09.01.2022 KETO RASPBERRY CRUMBLE BARS - GF, easy, healthy, keto, low carb, paleo and vegan! BOTTOM LAYER 2 cup Almond Flour 2 cup unsweetened desiccated coconut... 1/2 cup Coconut Flour 4 tablespoons Coconut oil melted 6 tablespoons Stevia or honey or maple syrup 2 tablespoon Vanilla extract 8-10 tablespoon Water RASPBERRY CHIA JAM 3 cup Frozen Raspberries 1/4 cup Water 1/2 cup Chia seeds 1/4 cup Stevia or maple syrup or honey 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract TOP LAYER 1 cup Coconut chips 1/3 cup Almond Flour 1/2 cup unsweetened desiccated coconut 3 tablespoons Stevia or honey or maple syrup 2 tablespoons Coconut oil 1/4 teaspoon salt INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to (180 C). Prepare a square baking tray (8 inches), covered with parchment paper. Set aside. BOTTOM LAYER~>> In a food processor add the almond meal, desiccated coconut, coconut flour, honey, salt, coconut oil and vanilla and water. Process until it gets crumbly and all the ingredients are coming together. Always add 2 tbsp of water at a time and check with a small portion of the dough. If it holds well together you added enough water. Evenly press the batter into the prepared baking tray. Using a fork, pick the base few times. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool down fully in the tray before spreading the raspberry jam on top. JAM~While the bottom layer is baking prepare the jam. In a small saucepan add all the jam ingredients. Cook the jam under medium heat stirring constantly. It is ready when the raspberry are fully melted and it forms a thick jam. TOP LAYER~ Add all the top layer ingredients into a mixing bowl. Use your hand to combine the ingredients together. Crumble those ingredients on top of the last layer - the chia jam - and return the tray to the oven for 10 minutes to slightly toast the coconut crumble layer. Fully cool down for 1 hour in the pan. 07.01.2022 My kids are my workout buddies Sticking with an exercise routine can be a struggle for anyone. But for Mamas, squeezing in workouts can feel darn near impossible. After all, how are you supposed to find time to work out when you can’t even go to the bathroom undisturbed? Between caring for kids, workplace demands, household chores, doctors appointments, school and all the rest, there is often precious little time for us to sweat....... I can’t do 45 to 60 minutes like I used to as I have the girls full time. Instead, I move my body when I’m with my kids. I do squats at the park, planks when we play trains, and triceps dips while we chalk up the driveway. I’ll even squeeze in a lower-body barre sequence at the bathroom counter while the girls take a bath. While I try almost every morning to to a workout, sometimes I am given the gift of a solid session, other times the girls have other ideas! They do love when I turn up my beats and we have a dance party in our living room. It’s a great cardio blast! Why I Make Time: The days can be hard, the juggle between running a household, a company and two kid’s full time is a lot. Exercise helps me feel calm and in control. Even if there’s a lot on my plate, I’ll commit to five minutes of movement, and it almost always leads to more. If I skip more than two days of working out, I’m irritable. Caregiving is rewarding, but it’s also demanding. ->>Don’t psyche yourself out. Before you think about the reasons not to be active today, just do it. -.>>No equipment? No problem. Stationary exercises like push-ups, planks, or crunches are easy to throw in throughout the day. ->>Bring the baby along. Buy a baby wearer. You can also do walking lunges and squats while wearing your baby. ->> put running shoes on and clothes you can be active in first thing in the morning, if dressed for movement your more likely going to grab those moments to do incidental exercise. . . . . 06.01.2022 HELLO YOU BEAUTIFUL CREATURE! When was last time you took 10min to connect with your INSIDE YOU? Yes, that little lady that lives inside you that KNOWS you are amazing, brave, strong, powerful, kind, loving, great and KNOWS you can achieve all kinds of wonderful things in your life? I have discovered that, it’s only when we truly connect with her that we start to believe that WE CAN make our dreams come true, and that we ARE WORTHY.... It’s not until you truly give your INNER YOU the voice she deserves that you will feel that your life is flowing. So what do you do to give her a voice? I meditate, I pray, I say my daily affirmations while I brush my teeth, I reflect upon my manifestation board while I workout, I eat lunch outside to ground my body by touching the grass, feeling the outside breeze or by just letting the sun kiss my skin. I am definitely not perfect, I still want to implement a self care routine and find time in a week that is kid free and not work, however I’m working on it. My personality is always look after me last, however I notice the difference it makes to give myself a moment to just be me. 01.01.2022 WORKSPACE.... I have three work spaces technically, my office in front of the computer, my artist desk and my gym. We have recently moved to an older home and going to renovate one room at a time, I am excited to renovate my art/office space!
