Now looking at the info we have put together you might be thinking I've never been penalised for not following these rules (which is awesome) but if by chance FB or Insta becomes aware of this you are reported for breeching the rules your content will be removed and your account suspended or closed down Hopefully this info helps

These owners work incredibly hard in all aspects of their business from the day to day running to the accounting, PR, recruitment and so on. Our role in the first instance is to come in and take the stress out of their social media, but it is about much more than that and this is where the local aspect really comes in.... We get to know our clients, their business and their products. 21.01.2022 I had a very interesting call last week from a lady (shall we call her Karen? well if the shoe fits ) and I've thought about this on and off since. I also thought what is the point of telling you all about it but figured some of you in the business world may have had a similar experience and I wanted to hear your thoughts. In a nutshell it went like this "Hi I'm Karen, I don't have the time to manage my social media and I really need help with it". So far a very normal conv...o for me. "Now I've had a look at your pricing (yes Karen my pricing is on my socials and website, I like transparency) and although I have seen others who charge alot more than you, there are also people put there who charge less so I am going to need you to drop you price to start with because really all you are doing is slapping up a few posts a week for me (yes she said slapping ). I suffer from imposter sydrome everyday of the week, I constantly doubt myself and still wonder why I have businesses signing up BUT I do believe in business (and in life) you need to back yourself, value your strengths and skill sets and never let anyone dictate to you what they think you are worth. Your time is just as valuable as any one else's and I'm not sure about you but I didn't start a business to work for free or to work for a.holes! Now I offered Karen a discounted price to slap posts up for her that were in no way relevant to her business, that weren't targeted at her audience with no social media or hashtag strategy, no review of data and posted at times her audience wasn't online (because trust me Karen there's alot more to managing a businesses online profile than you think). Also What the hell does she mean by a Xmas Strategy and what do I need to do As business owners we all know the lead up to the Xmas period can be chaotic and we often leave things to the last minute. Depending on the type of business you run there are things you can get in place and plan for now to make it al...l run a little smoother Here's a quick rundown Think of the services/products your business offers. Are there any specials/vouchers/offers you want to promote over this period for your customers? Make a list and schedule when you want these services/products promoted and start your campaigns/posts on your socials. What are your trading hours going to be over Xmas? Are you taking a break and closing the doors for a while? Think about this now and let your customers know in the coming weeks. If you offer services encourage your customers to book in now or let them know if there are limited availabilities in the next 7 weeks. Start planning for any Xmas giveaways/competitions Work on a personalised Xmas message (it doesn't need to be like the queens ) thanking your customers for their support is always a great gesture. Be authentic and honest. 21.01.2022 Let's talk specific social media platforms for your business. Starting with the old faithful Facebook. Did you know just over 1.6 BILLION users login to Facebook daily!!!! That is a huge customer base to gain access to. Obviously we aren't going to reach each and every user here (and we don't want to) but the potential to reach your target audience is massive.... The tools Facebook provides for your business page are invaluable and for the most part easy to understand By taking a quick look into the insights section of your page you will see data including page likes and views, post reach and actions taken on your page (plus much more!!) Dig a little deeper and you can review how specific posts are performing, the demographics of your followers and even when they are online. Now that is a whole heap of valuable data right there!!!! Advertising on FB is really cost-effective and with the info you have access to it is that bit easier to reach your target audience. On the flip side running a business page is time consuming and it opens your business up to keyboard warriors who like to provide negative feedback at every opportunity lol but the benefits really outweigh this. When you are building your social media presence organically (i.e without paid advertising kicking it along) the process can be quite slow (and painful) but there are things you can do to grow your following that bit quicker. 17.01.2022 There's lots of planning going on here at the moment in preparation for 2021 To kick us off I have come up with a list of focus words to structure Banana around for the upcoming year. As we move into our second year of business it's getting busy!!!! There are new goals to achieve and new services to add in (more on that later ) Here are the focus words for 2021......... Communicate I tend to communicate inside my head and not pass this info onto the relevant parties (sorry Karlz ) So this year I will be focusing on clearer communication. We are introducing a communication book (I'm a bit old school and still like pen and paper) and will continue to expand our communication/information boards on Trello (this app has been a lifesaver for us). Organise Just before Christmas we had a shiny new office installed (it's beautiful ) I am currently organising, labelling and setting it up so it flows and feels like a calm and creative space. Child locks have been installed on all the doors and drawers (mums working from home will completely understand why this is essential ). I will post some pics when hubby sorts his pile of paperwork from the floor!!!! I also plan on organising and decluttering our content and download files, email subscriptions and paperwork. Streamline This one I'm really excited about! Like in any business so much of our time is taken up in admin tasks. We have started to develop and introduce processes designed to reduce the amount of time we spend on admin. Checklists, questionnaire's, proposals, social media plans, emails, invoicing and so on will all be streamlined into an easy process so we aren't doubling up on admin work (cannot wait!!) I started this business just over ten months ago and have been incredibly lucky (and somewhat shocked) to be able to build this little gig of mine into a full-time job with another team member on board. I nearly choked on my coffee when I saw Christmas trees on display in big w today It always feels as though this time of year is more overwhelming, busier and more chaotic. Coming off the back of the lovely covid pandemic hasn't helped.... So I'm asking how is your mental health and what are you doing to take care of it? Have you taken time to stop and breathe? Sounds silly but we get so busy racing around that we actually forget to breathe properly sometimes (pick me ) See if you can set aside 5 mins a day just to sit and breathe. It can be of a morning with a coffee in hand (or at night with a wine, we aren't here to judge ) and consciously take those breathes. 13.01.2022 Most business owners I speak to are already overwhelmed with the long to do lists that come with running a business (anyone else wake up at 2am thinking s%&t I forgot to do a, b and c or is that just me ) Social media is often the thing that gets put last or on the back burner because sometimes its just to hard to come up with what to post and when.... My go to advice is always keep it simple and be consistent. If you can commit to one post a week then stick with that and do it consistently. Don't put the pressure on yourself to have to post all the time just because you think you should. There are lots of useful scheduling tools that can help you plan ahead and maintain a consistent posting routine. We love using Later or you can plan and schedule in your Facebook business page. Planning, creating, organising and coming up with new ideas (some great some not so much ) I load my to-do lists up with unrealistic goals and then get frustrated when I don't tick them all off . I often wake up at 2am and can't get back to sleep until I write whatever idea or concern that has popped into my head down on paper. Exhausting? Absolutely it is!... The goal is to scale this little business in the coming 12 months and in order to sustain this I have been focusing on not only working in the business but also on it. Today I spent time working on processes, outsourcing what I could afford to (instead of spending way too long on areas I don't like or understand), shortening the to-do list and organising work-flow. After just one day of this my anxiety has lifted significantly and I feel strangely calm. When was the last time you stopped to look at how you are running your business? Are you in control or is it running you? Are there things you can outsource and free up time for other areas? As business owners it is so easy to reach burnout in a short amount of time (pretty sure I've been there a couple of times already in the first 12months ) Take some time to stop, re-assess, plan, organise and focus on your strengths

I have never considered my self a creative person, I can't play an instrument or sing and I'm terrible at art (this has been confirmed by my year 8 art teacher w...ho labelled our table the 50% group i.e no interest or talent in art whatsoever ) But when it comes to social media, branding, cohesiveness etc I feel like I actually do have a creative person inside of me dying to get out . 04.01.2022 We are making an effort to stop and celebrate the little wins along the way here at team Banana and this one we are pretty chuffed with (even if we do say so ourselves bahahaha) Our books for 2020 are full and we are now taking bookings for 2021 The goal when we kicked off was to have 10 businesses on the books within 12 months. Fast forward and we have almost tripled that number of awesome local businesses we manage social media for ... The remaining months of 2020 will be spent bringing on board our last few clients for the year, more study and training courses for both of us and taking time to refine and add in processes ready for the next 12 months. 01.01.2022 It's a big day for Mental Health awareness with R U OK and World Suicide Prevention day both in the spotlight. And while I think it's fantastic that awareness is being raised around this, there is so much more to be done. Those of you following Banana may be aware that I am also a registered nurse (have been for 15 years) and still work part-time in nursing while running this business. The area of nursing in which I practice is Mental Health, so this topic is extremely close ...to my heart on both a professional and personal level. I have had my own struggles with mental illness over the years. I've looked after loved ones and friends who have been unwell and tragically have lost friends to suicide. Now is my story rare? The reality is absolutely not and sadly this will most likely resonate with many of you on a personal level. Why then, when mental illness affects so many of us is it still a topic we shy away from talking about? Is it because it's uncomfortable to start that conversation with someone? Do we not understand enough about it or is it the stigma that is still attached. Did you know suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 25-44 and the second leading cause of death for young people aged 15-24? I don't know about you but I would rather have that hard conversation with someone than attend their funeral. It's time to get our heads out of the sand and move forward with mental health awareness. We will continue to educate and support followers of this page around mental health in the hope that it helps. Be kind. Keep an eye on your friends and family.
