21.01.2022 IN a world first, a northern beaches hospital has conducted research into the safest way to remove a tick. FACEM Dr Andy Ratchford, emergency director at Mona V...ale Hospital who was involved in the study, said results showed killing the tick by freezing it while it was still embedded in the skin was the best course of action and could potentially save a life. There’s so much conflicting evidence out there on how to remove ticks, it’s a minefield, Dr Ratchford said. This is the first research looking at the best way to remove ticks. 06.01.2022 Never underestimate the power of manual removal. A little while back I had a post on Sicilian Sea Lavender (Limonium hyblaeum) at Saratoga. Have a look at the b...efore and after photo. This is the result after having professional bush regeneration contractors hand remove the weed. This is just a portion of the infestation and as you can see, the weed had completely outgrown and smothered all other plants it had grown through. A total of 160kg bagged and taken and buried at the tip. The crew from Bangalow Bushland Management did thorough job, not one plant was found afterwards. See more
