19.01.2022 Its 16 years since we planted this She Oak beside our Waltzing Matilda slate seat in the Banjo Paterson Bush Park. We planted it for a one year old girl Matilda from Lanarkshire in Scotland. We were very lucky to have her visit 5 years ago and look forward to seeing the family again one day in the future. 18.01.2022 As COVID-19 situation becomes a little worse, even the broken mould of the Paterson sculpture is being protected with a new blue mask. Currently getting ready for "Fabrication" of the sections and the final journey of the sculpture to Yeoval in February 2021.
18.01.2022 Planted by Heather Johnson in July 2006, this magnificent example of a Coolibah tree is just across the road from the Banjo Paterson Museum in the Banjo Paterson Park.
18.01.2022 It’s not a matter of just chipping away as you do with stone the process of casting a bronze sculpture is long and precise till eventually you reach the wax stage and are ready for the moulding and casting. Here is the chest section in its wax form. Because of its size the sculpture is broken down to smaller sections to enable easier handling for the moulding and casting process. Once the pieces are all cast in bronze they are then re-joined to rebuild the finished Sculpture

13.01.2022 This week I'm going to introduce you to the 6 lovely stores that you can purchase the Mr Johnson's Farm series from. . Let me introduce you to a wonderful, well... known couple from the Greatest Little Town in the West, Yeoval. This is Alf (photo) and Sharon. They own and run a museum based on the life and time of Banjo Paterson. Banjo Paterson-more than a Poet . Alf has spent years collecting and researching, to create an exhibit that is well displayed, very informative and features some remarkable pieces of history. I'm sure we have all heard or read a poem by the famous Australian poet, but did you know he was more than 'just a poet'. You should check out this museum to see more! . They also run a beautiful cafe on site, with delicious coffee and scones. Sharon is always cooking up a storm, proving to be the perfect hostess. . Alf and Sharon were the first shop owners to come to me and say 'Jess, we want to sell your books in our shop.' And for that, I am very grateful. They were the first shop to show great support, trust, enthusiasm and pride in my books. So much so that they leave a copy of my book on the cafe table, just to make sure every customer gets a chance to read it! . Thank you Alf and Sharon for you support! And thank you for the way you continue to serve the Yeoval community and this region! #banjopaterson #museum #countrytown #supportlocal #yeoval #greatestlittletowninthewest #centralwestnsw #childrensbook #community See more

10.01.2022 JACK BRADSHAW is described as the last of the Australian Bushrangers, was a man who seemed to be in the right place at the right time and was always caught. He described Mad Dog Morgan as a great friend and wired a nameplate to an old bed post to mark the burial site of this headless corpse. A bushranger, a father, a shearer, a swagman, an author and poet born in 1846 and died 1937 aged 91 years. See his books, history and note to my grandmother at the Banjo Patersonmore than a Poet Museum.

05.01.2022 The Banjo Paterson Bush Park in Yeoval is looking a picture again as the Council have returned the Lawnmower. The grass is cut, new trees have been planted and there are lots of birds in the trees and on the water. All is very much back to nature and if you listen carefully you can hear the pitta-patta of little feet as the ants continue to wear their track from the high residential nest overlooking the creek to the work area nests in the middle of the car park. 02.01.2022 ICONIC CENTRAL WEST MUSEUM ABOUT TO GET EVEN BETTER Waltzing Matilda, Clancy of the Overflow - you’d be hard pressed to find better-known Australian literary w...ork. These works have helped form our national identity and came from the pen of Andrew Barton ‘Banjo’ Paterson. Today, I took a trip to the iconic Banjo Paterson Museum in Yeoval to present Alf and Sharon Cantrell with a $7,500 grant under Round 5 of the Australian Government’s Stronger Communities Programme. The funding is going towards the construction of a statue of Banjo that will stand out the front of the museum for the whole community to see. Congratulations Alf and Sharon for the great job you’ve done in preserving Banjo’s memory. The exhibition is full of Banjo memorabilia, covering everything from poems to letters from Banjo’s father, books, snow shoes over one hundred years old, a ninety year-old jacket that Banjo once wore, and much more. Well worth a drive to Yeoval to check it out!
