25.01.2022 Harvest day for Northside Farmers Market. #thatwetdogsmell #eatlocal #organicfarming

24.01.2022 I'm a morning diary writer - I'm normally up a 6ish sitting on the couch with a cup of tea and my diary. With the sun starting to come up a bit earlier and the blossoms in full swing, I am getting to see some simply stunning views as I write - thought I'd share this morning's amazing sunrise with you. Have a great day! #banjospaddock #morningview #dawn #sunrise

24.01.2022 All the crossed fingers worked. No hail for us. A few lettuce having a lay down rest due to hard rain, but they should recover with no issues. Spring crops here we come. #organicfarming #canberrafood

24.01.2022 Winter polytunnels

21.01.2022 Quick and lazy lunch with our rocket, @threemillsbakery bread and @leaning_oak cream cheese from our neighbours @crfarmersmarket -delish. #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #freshnlocal #supportlocal #capitalregionfarmersmarket

20.01.2022 Didn't quite manage to get all the seedlings planted before the rain started so Byron is out there again this morning. Mind you, we had around 20,000 seedlings delivered . #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #farmingneverstops #rain #seedlings #supportyourlocalfarmer #supportlocal #wallaroo #wearecanberra

19.01.2022 Some pretty epic looking garlic from @banjospaddock @threeblueducks #roadtrip Reposted from @darrenrobertsonfood

See you there! #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #gourmet #lettuce #gourmetlettuce #freshnlocal #supportlocal #supportyourlocalfarmer #capitalregionfarmersmarket #springhassprung #salad #saladdays

19.01.2022 Byron and Stacey, who helps out at the farm, had a great time yesterday @cbrfarmersmkts catching up with many of our lovely customers - so great to be back at Southside! #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #southsidefarmersmarket #weloveourcustomers #supportyourlocalfarmer #supportlocal #grownbylocalsforlocals #wallaroo #wereback

19.01.2022 After the drought nearly wiped us out last year, it's gonna be a VERY long time before we complain about rain, but really, this is enough now thanks! FYI that blue item you can see at the beginning is sitting on a jetty now underwater #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #the drought has broken #rain #okyoucanstopnow #wearecanberra #wallaroo

17.01.2022 Nature in full swing. Baby brown sunning itself in the afternoon.

15.01.2022 Banjo frog or "pobblebonk" frog at Banjos Paddock. The frog is also called thepobblebonkafter its distinctive "bonk" call, which is likened to aBanjo string being plucked

15.01.2022 Perfect day for transplanting our latest seedlings to our outdoor beds now that the weather is warming up - Not too hot or cold, and rain due in the next day or so to water them all in properly. #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #seedlings #transplanting #perfectday #supportyourlocalfarmer #supportlocal #welovefarming

14.01.2022 Warning no vegetables in this post . Did you know our neighbours @crfarmersmarket, @threemillsbakery provide ready to bake (with some rising time) frozen croissants ? Omg the golden flakiness of freshly baked croissants!

14.01.2022 Eggs are back! And yes the yolks really are that yellow (no filter used) In the dark and the cold and the wet of winter our chickens had a sulk and produced hardly any eggs (don't blame them really), but with the extra light and warmer weather they've started to lay enough for us to have a few dozen available @crfarmersmarket this morning. Picturrd is my absolute favorite way to eat our organic stir fry mix - with scrambled eggs on the side for brekky . Works just a...s well with our organic baby spinach and our organic baby kale mix. And such a fantastic and easy way to add greens and protein to your day! #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #supportlocal #supportyourlocalfarmer #fresheggs #leafygreens #wearecanberra #wallaroo #capitalregionfarmersmarket

14.01.2022 Early bird catches the morning view. A quick weed of next month's seedlings, deliver produce to @southernharvest.association @chokubaijo and @organicenergy Prep beds for this fortnights delivery from @australseedlings inevitably chase chickens back to their side. Might make time to visit Plonk for this week's craft beer staff tasting.

13.01.2022 Turn up the volume for this clip People often talk about the quiet and peaceful countryside. Nuh-uh. Even at night, nature is heaving! And this quick recording from last night looking at the Canberra lights from our back door doesn't include the neighbour's sheep that often bleat all night, our dog snoring and the roosters that often started crowing at 3am. I love it all (well, except the 3am rooster shenanigans) and very grateful to be here. #banjospaddock #gleannname...ala #certifiedorganic #nature #naturesounds #quietandpeaceful #countryside #wallaroo #supportlocal See more

11.01.2022 Beetroot this weekend @crfarmersmarket and @cbrfarmersmkts ! #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #beetroot #freshnlocal #supportyourlocalfarmer #wearecanberra

10.01.2022 Working out what to do with market produce leftovers for dinner. People often assume our kids love eating our fresh organic veggies and they're pretty good really, but we have the same struggles that most parents have . They both REALLY don't like boc choi, so for tonight's dinner I blitzed boc choi and baby kale into some cooked rice with a bit of spring onion and sesame oil and then stir fried it, and served it with some non- blitzed veggies (that they are willing to eat ) and a sauce including mirin, soy, wine vinegar sesame oil and sugar. The kids thought it was yum! #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #whydontkidslikevegetables #veggies #blitzedveggies

08.01.2022 Starting to prep new beds ready for spring. Things are still a bit damp from the recent rain! #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #spring #supportlocal #supportyourlocalfarmer #gettingreadyforspring #welovespring

07.01.2022 Reckon you could say the drought is definitely over for us at this stage... #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #droughtisover #damoverflow #rain #okraincanstopnow

05.01.2022 Covercrop root nodulation. Legumes form a symbiotic relationship with rhizobia, a bacteria, where atmospheric nitrogen is absorbed and assimilated. When slashed and left to decompose in the soil, less nitrogen is required for the following crops. The pictures are of a winter cover crop in polytunnels of peas radish and oats.

04.01.2022 Nothing says Spring like blossoms on a warm sunny day! #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #spring #yay #sunnyday

03.01.2022 I was going to comment on first day of shorts, instead, wish us luck with the predicted hail. The crew and I worked hard to get all the seedlings in and bedded down......... #fingerscrossed #localfood #organic

01.01.2022 Woohoo the first of our spring asparagus! Should have a bit this Saturday @crfarmersmarket #banj#gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #asparagus #welovespring #supportyourlocalfarmer #supportlocal #wallaroo #wearecanberra

01.01.2022 A quick wander outside to harvest some farm veggies (baby leek, radish, carrots, spinach and garlic), cooked with some pork and sage sausages and tossed with lemon, oil and pepper into pasta with parmesan on top. Super easy, quick and delicious (and the kids liked it) - my favourite kind of cooking #banjospaddock #gleannnameala #certifiedorganic #busymum #quickdinner #quickandhealthy #farmfresh #pasta
