18.01.2022 JESS HULL BREAKS AUSTRALIAN 1500M RECORD Jessica Hull has clocked 4:00.42 to break the 1500m record in Berlin, her second Australian record in as many months after having run 14:43 last month in Monaco to claim the 5,000m mark. Jess becomes the first Australian in 23 years to hold both the 1500m and 5000m records simultaneously. Next stop, sub-4. #BankstownTrackProject #OneClub #Repost @jessicaahull ... WOW Australian National 1500m record 4:00.42 at @istaf_berlin I took a chance, went all in and @pete.j.julian was confident if I raced aggressively, I could catch something special. Today that was lucky to be a PB and the Aussie record! As you can see @lauraweightman1 and I gracefully gave every inch we could in hopes of cracking the 4:00 barrier, but its fire in the belly for another day! Heres a couple of fun stats for you: 1. @ryangregson25 and I both got started with Albion Park Little Athletics Club back in the day and now hold our indoor and outdoor national 1500m records. Pretty cool feat for a small south coast of NSW grassroots club! 2. At 23, Im the first Aussie woman to hold both the 1500m and 5,000m national records in 23 years. Thank you @david_tarbotton for the Tarby Stat here! A huge congrats to our speedy team mama @shannonrowbury on a seasons best today and @lmuiruns for another classy run and win to add to her incredible 2020 campaign! : @jrhodesathletics #istaf2020 #itsfinetoredline #allin #momentstomomentum #makeithurt #makeitcount #livingthedream

Big things coming. #Repost @jessicaahull ... Now thats something Im more familiar with! 5th place finish in the Stockholm Diamond League this afternoon with my fastest 1500m opener; solid but more to come! A year ago I was stoked with a 4:02, now its a strong starting point. What a difference 12 months can make! After racing a 5km last week, this 1500m felt like a bit of a blur but Im very excited to keep sharpening and see what we can do over the next month of racing! A great day for our team all around, were moving forwards with every week! A win from @donavanbrazier, 2 seasons bests from @shannonrowbury and @raealex35 and speed to burn at the end for @craigathor. Also a HUGE run from @stewy_mac3 in the mens 1500m. 14.01.2022 EDWARDS FINALLY JOINS SUB-4 CLUB TO WIN ALBIE THOMAS In what was a desperately needed feel good story to end 2020, the injury-ravaged Jye Edwards of the #BankstownTrackProject and Team Telford Elite finally got to race healthy and won perhaps the deepest #AlbieThomasMile men's race ever run, joining the sub-4 club with a 3:57.30 to miss Jordan Gusman's race record by just one hundredth of a second. Jye beat home the world-class Oliver Hoare of Sutherland District Athletics C...lub and On Athletics Club who looked the winner with 200 to run and also went sub-4 in 3:58.26. Third was Jeffrey Riseley who added yet another sub-4 minute mile to his imposing resume by just one hundredth of a second after being caught up in an early fall in what will surely be an ominous sign for Australian middle distance runners everywhere. The depth of the race was borne out with three men breaking 4 minutes for the first time in the race's history, along with other stories like new Bankstown member 17-year old Tom Palfrey who ran 4:06 despite falling in a sign of things to come. These protocols are the price we must pay at the moment to be afforded that privilege. Please respect that and adhere to the protocols.
