25.01.2022 LATE NOTICE ..... Sorry for any inconvenience but at the children’s request.... we will now be known as Barefoot Beginnings Day Spa from here on out!! At the request of our older girls, we have created our own day spa here in care. The children enjoyed being pampered with some hand and nail cream, face cream, nail polish, robes, hairstyles and last but not least our pretend cucumbers for their eyes! The girls helped gather many different resources from around our home to create this relaxing space for their peers and one another. All children are now referred to as madam or prince and are very relaxed. Until further notice, we will be in our zen zone.

25.01.2022 Over the weekend one of our families enjoyed a little escape while camping in their caravan, this morning upon arrival Miss K was so excited to tell me all about her adventures and what she had gotten up to! This conversation has allowed us to follow on with Miss Ks interest within camping, while we began setting up our outdoor experiences for the day, She asked if we could create our own camp and so that we did! We gathered up anything from the storeroom that looked as if it could be used for our activity and created this amazing play space! Miss K is very pleased with her efforts and can not wait for her peers to join us for the day!

23.01.2022 This afternoon the children followed on from this mornings Bee activities with some more fun! During quiet time we watched a few short videos on YouTube discussing how bees create honey, how they are born and how the worker bees pollinate our plants! We then discussed these things again in a group tome, we asked questions and thought about what our names would be if we were bees! Our last activity for National bee day was juicing our fresh oranges! This activity was thought of while we searched for bees in our vegetable garden! Willow and I had spoken about the bees pollinating the flowers on our fruit and vegetable trees to help them grow big and juicy! Katie and Willow then asked if we could see if the oranges were juicy. This then lead to our fun, yet sticky experience making our very own fresh orange juice!

21.01.2022 Drought, Fire, Floods and a pandemic in one financial year... We respect, honour and admire all of our essential workers!

20.01.2022 This morning we celebrated Willows 5th Birthday! We are so proud of the young girl you have become and wish you another wonderful year! We are sad this is your last birthday with us before big school but hope you continue to visit us over the years! Happy Birthday to our wonderful Willow!!

19.01.2022 Squeezing in some crafty fun before the sun disappears today, the children are enjoying the gentle breeze and natural options within their craft experiences at the moment.

18.01.2022 The spring weather pulling out all the goods for the first day of school holidays. Our vacation care kiddies are in for some fun, for the next two weeks! All children are very excited to see each other again!

16.01.2022 Yesterday we celebrated Ryan’s 7th birthday! We are so stoked that even when our day care kids grow up, they still want to come back and hang out! We loved celebrating you and love having the opportunity to watch you grow into such an awesome dude! Happy Birthday Ryan!!

14.01.2022 A little potion mixing today in the garden with our Katie! Katie has also taught me how to make fairy soup! We leave it here at night, they will eat it!

08.01.2022 WORLD BEE DAY! This morning the children participated in a range of experiences to incorporate world bee day into our program. The first experience was a stem activity, the children practised their fine motor skills, concentration and hand-eye coordination to carefully place the pollen onto the beehive!... The children then had the opportunity to taste test, honey! (Each child used a different spoon and was carefully supervised to ensure no double-dipping, the spoons were then disposed of.) Thirdly the children sat at the table to discuss what bees look like, we searched on google for some pictures and coloured in some wonderful finger puppets! later in the morning, the older children made some wonderful bees out of our recycling/craft station. Keep an eye out for some more photos later today as we continue with the Bee theme for the day! You could definitely say, we have a BEESY day ahead!

07.01.2022 Today’s crafting under the shade of the orange tree. Our spring flowers smelling beautiful and the filtered sun beaming through the leaves has created a beautiful calm space for our littlest friends to explore textures, materials and our natural world! We hope your enjoying spring just as much as we are!

07.01.2022 This morning the children had the opportunity to participate in a tea party! This experience was created as a follow on from last week when a few of the children created a picnic with some dolls outside! Today we worked together to cut up some fruit, set the table and the children’s families helped out with the great tea party attire! This experience allows the children to foster social skills, table manners and learn to use breakable kitchenware. The children needed to practice holding their teacups with two hands and how to place their cup further back on the table so that they couldn’t be nocked down. So we are very pleased to say our experience was very successful with not a drop of tea (coloured water) spilt, as well as the, most beautiful table manners you could imagine! WE HOPE YOU HAVE A ‘TEA’ - RRIFIC TUESDAY!

06.01.2022 Here at BBFDC, we love a good party! The children enjoy treating one another to a special day and we love celebrating each child as an individual! For each child’s birthday, we decorate our space, bake a special cake and give a gift! We love inviting our friends from other services to create a bigger event as well. Yesterday we celebrated Miss A for her second birthday! She loved her cake and felt very pleased with the excitement from her peers! We enjoyed having the childr...en from Christines Family daycare to join in on the fun as well! Happy birthday Aubree! We are so glad to have the opportunity to be your pal! We hope you enjoyed spending your day with us and that it’s just the first of many to come!

06.01.2022 While today was the first day it hadn’t rained in a while I was excited to be outside, but to much surprise the children thought it was a disaster! So we decided to create our own rain to play in! The children’s imaginations ran wild as they jumped in muddy puddles and caught rain drops on their tongues!

05.01.2022 A few more of our beautiful butterflies

04.01.2022 Each year we choose a handful of charity’s to support with a donation from the children within our care, we never believed we would need to utilise a charity of any sort. However after suffering the loss of our son earlier this year Bears of hope helped us tremendously. We will forever be great full and do our best to raise awareness and much needed funds for this charity. Starting from October 1st we will be participating in the #walkyourway2020 Fundraiser to continue rai...sing awareness and much needed funds for the incredible charity @bearsofhope ! We ask for you to walk alongside us or share our journey. Any share or donation will be much appreciated, you can find our donation website and more information about the cause in the link below. https://walkyourway.choosinghope.com.au/pa/SharntaeWelling

04.01.2022 It is a very rare moment when I am captured by the camera with the children, although after taking a photo of all the kids picking oranges today we decided to take a quick group photo! So here we are in all our craziness with the biggest smiles, enjoying each other’s company and getting up to mischief!

03.01.2022 Yoga is a wonderful activity that encourages each individual to slow down, learn self care and calm the soul. Miss M has been quietly stretching and relaxing during rest time as her younger peers take their mid day sleep. Creating this quiet space/ activity for the children allows the individual to foster many skills including kinaesthetic awareness, balance, breathing techniques and self gratitude.

02.01.2022 The children had a great time making orange juice this afternoon with the help of our after school care kids! Each child picked two oranges each and had the opportunity to use the electric juicer, of course with very close supervision. We then tried the juice and much to their delight they all loved it!
