24.01.2022 There you go...if you have been in the infected areas lately....get tested.

23.01.2022 Wearing a face covering is a small action but it can make a big difference. And it's one of those things where the more people do it, the exponentially bigger... that difference becomes. That's why Victoria's Chief Health Officer is making it a requirement not just a recommendation. Here's how it'll work: If you live in metro Melbourne or Mitchell Shire and you need to leave home for one of the four essential reasons, you must have a covering over your mouth and nose. If you're travelling into regional Victoria for work or care reasons, that covering will need to remain on for the entire time you're there. If you live in regional Victoria, you'll need to wear a face covering if you visit metro Melbourne or Mitchell Shire and we're still recommending you wear one in your local area if you can't physically distance. There are a few exceptions. Kids under 12, those who have a professional or medical reason or if it's just not practical, like when you're out running. In our schools, that'll mean teachers don't have to wear a face covering while teaching but students attending for VCE, VCAL or for onsite supervision will. Everyone will be expected to wear one on the way to and from school. This requirement won't be enforced until 11:59pm on Wednesday 22 July to give people a chance to buy or make a covering but if you already have one, please start wearing it now. And if you don't have a mask, a scarf is better than nothing. As with everything, this shouldn't be about looking for loopholes. It's about each of us doing something small to keep everyone around us safe. If I'm wearing a covering, I'm helping to protect you. If you're wearing one, you're helping to protect me. And if we all wear one, we're all doing our bit to slow the spread.

23.01.2022 Be kind to each other. If you are not well go see a doctor. Do not risk other peoples health.

20.01.2022 We as humans do not learn from history and are therefore doomed to repeat it. The Spanish flu lasted for 2 years. The second wave killed far more people than th...e first, and in total there were 4 waves. It killed somewhere between 20 million to 50 million people. Citizens were ordered to wear masks, and everywhere shut down and boarded up schools, movie theaters, and business. Mail distribution stopped, as did garbage collection. Many people had to dig graves for their own family members. Here we are 100 years later, and what have we learned? Half the people do not want to wear masks because they think it is a hoax/it is not that bad/the government is lying/insert insane right-wing conspiracy theory rhetoric here. People want to prioritize their own narcissistic desires and privileges over other human beings’ lives. What did they have in 1918? No TV. No internet, not a lot of food supply. What do we have? TV, internet, movies that can be watched from home, UberEATS...you name it. And yet we are a world full of entitled and selfish people who lack human empathy and act oppressed when given any minute sense of responsibility. Travel is not a necessity. Movie theaters are not a necessity. Throwing parties is not a necessity. Being a decent human being should not be a revolutionary act....it should be common sense. (This was shared to me from a friend. Cheers Niki)

20.01.2022 WOULD YOU BUY AMERICAN APPLES AT THE SUPERMARKET? The Government has given the green light to growers in Washington, Oregon and Idaho to export their fruit t...o Australia. More here: https://ab.co/3jufWY1 That's despite identifying 24 foreign pests and diseases in these US states, in its draft import risk assessment report. CEO of lobby group Apple and Pear Australia Phil Turnball says the biosecurity import conditions will need to be tough. From our point of view these pests are more than just a nuisance," he said. Many of them don’t have any treatments, so you’re forced to rip out the orchard. Some of them are a risk to other industries like citrus, cherries and blueberries.
