23.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We are processing some of the awards that students have handed in to obtain their next award e.g Bargo Blues. Some students may find they now have 5 Bargo Blues which would mean they could have their Principal Medallion presented on Presentation Day. We need to get all medallions and trophies to the engraver early next week so they are ready for Presentation day. So if your child has any awards or blues to hand in, this Friday is the final day to do so.... Students can place their awards in the office letterbox to be processed. See more

23.01.2022 There were some very happy customers leaving the library today with some pre-loved books!!! As part of our continual efforts to keep our library collection up to date we occasionally let go some of our older and out of dates books. Whilst they may not get used much in our library, they may find a new purpose in our students homes.

17.01.2022 Education Week Time Capsule Project During remote learning our School Captain Indi S suggested to the school that we might make a time capsule to serve as a reminder of what it was like living through a once in a 100 year pandemic. Something for the next generation to dig up and look back on! Before we could enact that idea we returned to in school learning. However, the concept stuck with us and during Education Week in Term 3 we asked students to reflect back on their rem...ote learning time. The result is a collection of student work that allows us to see how covid and the lockdown impacted our students and their lives. Instead of a traditional time capsule we have opted to create a book for each class to keep in the library for future students to read. We will also send it out on our digital platforms to share with everyone at home. Each class will see their work on seesaw and we will post a different class here everyday.

15.01.2022 2020 has been a tough year for everyone. Here at Bargo PS even our fundraising efforts have been effected. This includes our wonderful P&C who haven't been able to do the usual events and raffles. So like many things this year, people found a way. A HUGE congratulations and MASSIVE thank you to the P&C who on Tuesday were successful in obtaining a grant for our school for..............$30, 000!!!! This will go towards landscaping which will include an outdoor learning area and community facilities. Thanks again to Michelle Romeo, the grant team led by Sam Perovich and all P&C members. Also to Nathaniel Smith, our local state government member for selecting our school and presenting the cheque.

14.01.2022 Author Visit Today students at BPS were treated to an author visit courtesy of the Sydney Writer’s Festival. The aim of the Russ the Story Bus’ program is to bring authors and books to children. Our students attended an author talk with Sue Whiting who has written over seventy books!!! She is a writer of picture books and novels, so was able to present a different perspective on writing to each age group!!! We hope all our students enjoyed it, and that the visit gave some of aspiring writers an idea of how to go further with their writing passion!!!

10.01.2022 Kinder Orientation We are so glad to welcome our 2021 Kindergarten students for their second orientation day. We need to do things a bit different this year, but we are so glad we are still able to have our newest students be able to come for some visits before they start ‘big school’ next year!

06.01.2022 Remembrance Day 5/6J read the book ‘One Minutes Silence’ by David Metzenthen. This book has the reader contemplate why we remember and honour those lost during war. It had a great impact on the students in this class. 5-6J then learnt about the different meanings for the different coloured poppies we see on Remembrance Day and created artworks based on them.

04.01.2022 KA and KC students need to share their classrooms with the 2021 kindergarten students during orientation visits. Due to some clever timetabling they have their Library and STEM lessons at this time!!! Last week they were doing Pedestrian Safety and Bike Safety as part of their PD/H unit. They were lucky enough to be joined by some K-1H kindergarten friends too!!!

02.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK As part of our NAIDOC WEEK celebrations our indigenous students led the school in some Yulunga Traditional Indigenous Games. Each class was taught a little bit about the background of the game they played - taking the time to see how indigenous games came about and were passed down through generations.
