25.01.2022 How is everyone travelling with the isolation?? Staying home and keeping safe we hope. Some are not only fighting the battles of feeling alone in this uncertain time but they are also feeling the pain of a lost loved one who they may have otherwise had by their side to support them through a crisis such as Covid-19. A particular Elder is in our thoughts tonight and we are asking community to come together and show that no-one needs to feel alone. Please light a candle to show your support and post a photo below. Let's remind everyone that we're all in this together. #linkingcommunitytogether #togetherinisolation #lightacandle

19.01.2022 Some of our community are feeling the isolation in a big way so we've delivered some goodies to put a smile on their faces and let them know we're still here for them. The packages included some treats, reading material, craft activities and some fun little games to reminisce on the good old days. If you would like to support our community by donating some goodies we will be doing this again. Please leave donations of new items on the back table at Barkuma next week for us to collect and deliver to community on our next trip. #linkingcommunitytogether #keepingthemsafe #movingforward #abilitylinksnsw

09.01.2022 While Barkuma is still closed to face-to-face community access, we are taking all precautions to do our part in keeping everyone safe. All Staff have now individually completed the Department of Health's Covid-19 Infection Control Training and will be implementing what we have learnt into our workplace. Staff can still be contacted by phone and we will assist where it is safe and possible to do so.

08.01.2022 Everyone must practise good hygiene to protect against infection and prevent the virus spreading.

02.01.2022 Barkuma is now closed to Community until the new year. It has been a challenging year with Covid-19 isolating some of us even further than usual but Barkuma has still been a call away to support where we could. Keep safe these holidays and we look forward to catching up after the Christmas break. Office reopens 11th January 2021.

01.01.2022 Kurri Kurri Community Centre and Barkuma Neighbourhood Centre are calling for ideas for a mural that will welcome people as they arrive at The Centre. Funding ...for this project was provided by Kurri Kurri Bowling Club as part of the 2019/2020 Club Grants. We would love to hear from community members and students of all ages who might like to come and be involved in the ideas for the mural. The mural itself will be painted by the amazingly talented Glenn Dennis who is a proud Gamilario man from Walgett. Glenn has been painting for over 10 years. Dates for the consultations are in the poster. Thank you, Will
