25.01.2022 Had Paddy Baker down learning to make damascus and a kitchen knife, then to make a slipjoint folder. He did an awesome job with the potential to be a pretty good knifemaker. 210mm Chevron damascus Gyoto with stainless bolsters with Snappy Gum scales, and the slippie has Ladder damascus , fileworked liners with Ringed Gidgee scales. Great job mate



24.01.2022 Had Jazmyn Ross & Troy Phillips down for my 2 day basic bladesmithing course. Both did an awesome job forging out these hunters in 1084 with Jarrah and Peppermint Gum handles. Had a fun time as well guys, which is always a bonus

19.01.2022 Had brothers Marcus & Jasper Ravening down for my 2 day basic bladesmithing course. They forged their blades from 1084 bar stock, edge quenched, then ground & hand sanded, handling them in my stabilised Jarrah and Yorrell. Great job fellas

14.01.2022 THE PERTH KNIFE SHOW RETURNS IN 2022! The Australian Knife Art Association is happy to announce that we will be proceeding with the 2022 Perth Knife Show. With ...such a great experience in 2020 for both exhibitors and attendees, the show will again be held over the 5th and 6th of February at the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle. Registrations for the 2022 show have gone live on the website. Follow the below link for more information about the show including the show's Exhibitor Prospectus and the online registration form. www.perthknifeshow.com.au This will be a ticketed event which will go on sale in the first week of November. The 2022 Perth Knife Show has an approved Covid Event Plan and will be proceeding in accordance with information and advice from W.A. Health. 08.01.2022 MEET THE TEAM AKG Committee member Bruce Barnett In 1997 Bruce was the Australian Top Fuel Bike Champion, fortunately for the Australian Knife Community Bruce h...ad a change of hobby in 2005 and made his first knife, joining the Australian Knifemakers Guild that same year. Bruce is now serving as a member of the management committee of the Australian Knifemakers Guild. Bruce grew up on King Island in Bass straight and developed a healthy appreciation for knives there. These days Bruce is a full time knifemaker working out of his shop in Bridgetown Western Australia. Bruce forges his own damascus steel from 1080 and 15N20 and specialises in complex patterns for his knives and the starting price for one of his exquisite pieces is $650. Bruce started his journey making a range of fixed blade knives for the collectors and users such as hunting and kitchen. These days he specializes in folders, rapidly becoming one of Australia's best award winning folding knife maker. Bruce has been a huge contributor to the Australian Knifemaking scene donating his time to instruct at numerous events every year including the guild's Knife Camp and the Knife Art Associations Blade Symposium. He is the current state representative for The Australian Knifemakers Guild and he makes a lot of effort to attend every Australian Knife Show and flies the Aussie flag at Blade Show and the Big Sky Classic Knife show in the USA each year. He is also a founding member and committee member of the knife art association. Bruce offers a full range of courses from beginner to advanced, in fixed blade and folding knives tailoring his courses to his clients wants and needs. 06.01.2022 Normally im in the US this time of year having fun. Being unable to travel I was very happy to be invited to participate in the Big Sky Classic virtual knife sh...ow. Huge thank's to Rick Dunkerley for putting on the show and Mark Landry-Doran for all the hard work behind the scenes. Big thanks to all that checked in & to those that purchased knives. Here is one of the knives i sold. Its a modified Dunkerley pattern liner lock with my Persian Ribbon damascus. Bolsters & thumbstud have been nitre-blued, and the mother of pearl scales carved to match the ribbon. Liners are textured and the back bar has my engraving. Screws are fileworked. SOLD. 04.01.2022 Thank God thats the end of 2020...been a tough year for many. Just wanna say a huge thanks to all who have supported me this year either by buying knives, attending my knifemaking courses or when i just needed a chat. Too all my US friends, really hangin out to get back over there but dont know when thats gonna be As far as courses for next year, i am already fully booked up to the end of August. Sept & Dec are filling already which just leaves Oct and Nov. Those of you... with gift vouchers need to contact me asap to book a date. 2022 i will only be teaching 3 day folding knife courses.... its all i want to teach and my body has copped a flogging over the years and doesnt want to swing hammers etc anymore So wishing you all an awesome and very Happy New Year

A...ndy's is a 3&3/4" medium trapper with 125 layer random "raindrop" pattern carbon damascus, CPM154 spring, mill relieved, file worked and jewelled liners. Gold plated screws securing Minirichie scales. Trapper's is the same but with 125 layer "ladder" pattern damascus and is using domed stainless pins to secure the scales.
