Manufacturing The Manufacturing Division includes units mainly engaged in the physical or chemical transformation of materials, substances or components into new products (except agriculture and construction). The materials, substances or components transformed by units in this division are raw materials that are products of agriculture, forest...ry, fishing and mining, or products of other manufacturing units. Units in the Manufacturing Division are often described as plants, factories or mills and characteristically use power-driven machines and other materials-handling equipment. However, units that transform materials, substances or components into new products by hand, or in the unit's home, are also included. Activities undertaken by units incidental to their manufacturing activity, such as selling directly to the consumer products manufactured on the same premises from which they are sold, such as bakeries and custom tailors, are also included in the division. If, in addition to self-produced products, other products that are not manufactured by the same unit are also sold, the rules for the treatment of mixed activities have to be applied and units classified according to their predominant activity. Assembly of the component parts of manufactured products, either self-produced or purchased from other units, is considered manufacturing. For example, assembly of self-manufactured prefabricated components at a construction site is considered manufacturing, as the assembly is incidental to the manufacturing activity. End Point Blinman, Flinders Ranges, SA Distance 900km Time 2.32 Weeks - Cycling Time 3.62 Weeks - Walking Starting just north of Adelaide and travelling to the Outback town of Blinman in the Flinders Ranges, the Mawson Trail is the ideal option for mountain bikers wanting to travel through South Australia s remote rural areas. Close to nine hundred kilometres long, the trail includes little-used country roads, State forest and national park fire trails, farm access tracks and unmade or unused road reserves. It avoids traffic and bitumen roads and leads cyclists into the remote areas of the Ranges. The trail takes riders through the Adelaide Hills, traversing forests, farmland and historic towns such as Lobethal and Birdwood. It passes the world-famous Barossa wine region to the mid-north towns of Kapunda and Burra and, from here, winds pass the towns of Hallett and Spalding through the Bundaleer Forest and into the Flinders Ranges. The Mawson Trail is designed for mountain bike or sturdy touring bike use - it is not suitable for road bikes. There are several steep uphill sections and heavy rain on unmade tracks can make cycling very slow or impossible. However, spectacular views, abundant wildlife, unique flora and extensive vistas always reward the hard physical work. The park is a popular destination for bushwalking, with trails for all ages and abilities. 07.01.2022 Glenthorne National Park-Ityamaiitpinna Yarta is a new national park in Adelaides southern suburbs. The park is located 16 km south of Adelaide on Majors Road in OHalloran Hill. The park is now open and you can walk a 4km temporary loop trail (see map). The trail starts and ends at the parks ranger station just off Majors Road. The former 208-hectare Glenthorne property is being revitalised through an extensive revegetation program an area the size of almost 80 Adelaide Ovals. 05.01.2022 Communities living close to South Australias border with Victoria will face tighter rules while restrictions on gatherings in SA homes will be eased under changes to COVID-19 conditions announced by the Police Commissioner Grant Stevens yesterday. Stevens also confirmed that a range of venues including gyms, shopping centres, cafes, food courts, places of worship and licensed premises will be required to have a clearly identified COVID marshal on premises from August 21.
