Stay safe and thank you for your support Brendon and Simone Notice We are all doing our best to take some fairly drastic but simple common sense measures to keep everyone safe. We are all in this together so please for your own sake and for the sake of everyone around you please follow these COVID-19 guidelines. With social distancing concerns at the forefront please be patient, courteous towards other customers and no more than 5 people in the shop at any one time. We normally welcome browsers but please if you are just looking dont enter the shop. Please try to use tap and go as your payment option and avoid touching the screen with your card. We are attempting to optimise safety by sanitising surface areas between customers but please refrain from touching products and opening fridge doors unnecessarily. You can email [email protected], order online www.barrique.com.au (not everything in the shop is on there yet but were working on it) or phone the shop. 59626699. 14.01.2022 Applecross Vintage 2017 & 2016 on tasting tonight from 5pm New release 2017 Tonights guest winemaker really needs no introduction with over 23 Yarra Valley vintages under his belt, Dave Bicknell is chief-winemaker at Oakridge and owner /co conspirator at Bicknell FC with wife Nicky Harris. Dave will be pouring Applecross Chardonnay and Pinot Noir comparing 2016 & 2017 vintages see you there.

14.01.2022 Mayer Granite Pinot Noir 2019 Gembrook Yarra Valley I am always a fan of this wine. Timo releases a fourth pinot every year which is made from Gembrook fruit. Always a much tighter and more elegant wine than his normal bunchy stuff. More approachable than the last vintage and actually softer than I expected it to be. Forward medium intensity raspberry and red cherry up front with strawberry, dark cherry, cranberry and a touch of tobacco leaf building up on the long and slight...ly drying finish. Still a little tight but really it was only just bottled in June so thats to be expected. It will open up in the glass but a quick decant followed by a 10 minute rest will open it up nicely. Decant and drink now or cellar for 5 years and drink whilst still on the youngish side to take advantage of the very pretty and elegant structure. Decant and drink now or cellar for up to ten years. $60 or 3 for $156 www.barrique.com.au

06.01.2022 For those not already subscribing to our newsletter you may have missed the release of: Utter - PINOT NOIR 2018 A tiny bit excited about this one. OK, a lot bloody excited about this one. Beats the pants off the 2017. Smaller bunches have given more intensity especially from the raspberry bush and the cherry orchard but there is also a lovely whack of fresh strawberry and flecks of cumquat keeping it fresh. Lovely savoury tobacco leaf, herbal and just a touch of stewed fruit ...kick in as the wine opens up in the glass. Also lovers and followers of Mayer Bloody Hill will be impressed by this one. Should pull some golds and 90+ scores but I am going to enjoy watching this one evolve. Utterly brilliant Buxton producer. Boom Boom! Drink now if you cant wait but this should age gracefully for the rest of the decade. Stash a few (dozen) in the cellar and pull out over the next few years at carefully planned intervals, you wont be sorry. $35 online only 3 for $90 but we really really recommend that you buy 6 only until July 24th click on 3 in options to get the deal You can also sign up to the newsletter at https://barrique.com.au/
