21.01.2022 Transformation Tuesday!! We got the opportunity to help out a beautiful family with a very special daughter. Daisy is a beautiful & bright, young 12 year old living with a rare degenerative, genetic disease- Friedreich’s Ataxia. This causes difficulty in walking, a loss of sensation in the arms and legs, impaired speech and type 1 diabetes.... Unfortunately for Daisy she has declined in a short period of time, now being fully dependent in a Wheel Chair and limited control of her arms and legs. Daisy has been using a commode in her bedroom as her wheelchair could not fit into the toilet. This has been a massive impact on this young girls wellbeing and the safety of her family members trying to assist. Daisy has a blended family & spends her time 50/50 between her families homes, unfortunately NDIS has flaws in the system meaning that only one family could receive an upgraded bathroom. While this family has received other support a basic task like using a bathroom was not possible. A close friend to Barth Building introduced us to Daisy’s wonderful parents in the hope that we could assist in a cost effective transformation of their bathroom & toilet. After meeting with the family Dave could not leave the property without taking action into his own hands. Without hesitation Barth Building alongside RL Electrical donated their time, resources and materials to ensure Daisy & her family could have a bathroom that would make a difference to their life! We need to bring awareness to the flaws in the NDIS system, no families/ children should be deprived from the basics of life! #NDIS #BARTHBuilding #friedreichsataxia #supportfamily

We have been blessed to be able to work on some great projects with awesome clients during COVID-19, from transforming a young ladies bathroom so she can get in and out in her wheel chair with ease. 13.01.2022 Throw back Thursday Don’t you love your picture memories that pop up This time two years ago owner and director Dave Barth was given an opportunity to travel to Africa and join the team Operation Uganda. Whilst there Dave worked with locals to re roof an orphanage and be part of opening a new class room. Invited to be apart of this life changing experience by Brett Ambrose great mate and owner of Ambrose Building. Apart from coming home with completely different view on lif...e Dave came home with a new family member, sponsor child Joel, now able to attend school, receive clothing and food. It’s memory’s and experiences like this that keep us humble and appreciate all the challenges/ ups and downs that get thrown our way! A special thanks to Russell & Jenny Barton from Operation Uganda. Check them out and get involved! #BARTHBuilding #brisbanebuilding #operationuganda #atmos

06.01.2022 When not using a professional backfires While saving money and having a crack at landscaping and concreting yourself may sound like an excellent idea make sure you get advice or check with a professional first! During heavy rains this customer ended up with over 400l of water pouring into their media room due to the exterior concrete slab being installed too high with no adequate drainage.... The BB team removed the concrete path, 25 tonnes/600mm of soil, installed correct drainage, updated all storm water, ensured correct fall away from the house, concreted the new path with stairs and finished off with new turf... SO what seemed like a great idea and a good way to save some dollars ended up being by far a bigger headache and a costly experience for this customer. #BARTHBuilding #Brisbanebuilders
