17.01.2022 An alternative to canvas stretching is adhering it to foam core board in a vaccum heat press. This is totally reversible and does not affect the art. The benefits are a more lightweight art work that can be easily framed with more choice of frames than a deep float frame on a stretched canvas. Thanks to our happy new customer Dan for providing the photos of his finished work on his wall. It looks Stunning.

15.01.2022 This is Clement, a regular customer of ours. He loves to think outside the square and challenges himself and us with his projects. This project, he chose three frames and we figured out a way to join them all together for him to make one delicious frame for his canvas. Not sure how it would look, but he had a vision. I just love the result. Great insight Clement!

14.01.2022 Saturday was an exciting day at Base Art and Framing. Kevin Wilton, a silversmith and photographer bought all his gear and set up a place for art to be photographed. We are offering this service to our customers, perhaps monthly at this stage, with the next date to be announced. Cost is $60 flat rate per art photo. BYO USB stick for files to be put on to for you to print later There will be 3 folders of each photo, prints can be made for a card or photo.. a smaller file for ...email and a tif file for larger prints. This service will be fantastic for all artists and art owners and the rate is very competitive Contact shop for more information, booking and next available date.

One lucky customer brought hers in to do just that.. it turned out that once pulled apart it was a limited edition print, which was re framed differently to expose the numbers and signature... a new frame and glass, and it looked stunning! 13.01.2022 I believe like attracts like... and very much so with gardeners. I love to put out my pot of geraniums every morning to brighten up the back entrance to the shop. The other morning I turned up to find a pot of cuttings at the door.. and another this morning! I love it! I hope it keeps on happening!

03.01.2022 Judith and her purchase this morning of Mina Mina Dreaming by Valda Napangardi Granites. Judith has bought this as a Christmas Gift. Judith was telling me her sister is Jeanie Bell who was a teacher of the Aboriginal language in Northern Territory. Judith is a regular customer and it is always a delight to see her and hear a little more of her story each time!

02.01.2022 The 5th of October is the next date for Art photography. Please have your artworks into the shop at 984 Logan RD Holland Park by no later than 12.00 pm Saturday the 3rd of October. Please supply your own USB stick for file transfer. Art works will be photographed on Monday the 5th and can be picked up on Tuesday the 6th of October between 10.am and 4 pm . Cost is $60 per art work with each item generating three size files. One for emails, one for printing photos and a large t...iff file for printing large prints. This is a wonderful service by Kevin Wilton, that Base Art and Framing is very pleased to promote. Please note these photos are just examples of art that can be photographed properly.
