22.01.2022 ONE SPECTATOR PER PARTICIPANT | Basketball SA remains committed to ensuring that basketball stadiums stay open and we can continue to play the game we love. We understand and appreciate there are frustrations amongst our community and that people are missing out on watching their child play. Our guideline of 1 spectator per 1 participant is based on the State Governments requirement of 1 person per 2 square metres. Weve assessed the capacity for spectators based on the ava...ilable seating at each stadium, and set a general rule for all stadiums of 1 spectator per 1 participant. Unfortunately not all sports are equal. As an indoor sport, basketball has more restrictions than outdoor sports such as football and soccer. We continue to work with the State Government and are working on a solution to allow more spectators in the coming weeks. We ask you to please continue to support basketball and be patient as we work to provide a safe basketball environment for all South Australians.
