24.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS
23.01.2022 2021 Canberra Royal Show The RNCAS has made the difficult decision to postpone our 2021 Royal Canberra Horse Show in February 2021. The horse committee will... announce the new proposed dates shortly with aim to run our event towards the end of 2021 to coincide with the other Royal Shows. At the moment (from 2nd December 2020) ACT Health have stated events of over 500 people, which run over multiple days, with the same attendees are unlikely to be considered in view of the risks involved, and in particular where there is communal camping element proposed The Society will make an announcement with the new confirmed dates once everything has been locked in. These dates will be posted on our Facebook page, Website and emailed to exhibitors. In the meantime please respect our volunteers and staff as they try to do the best they can in these unprecedented circumstances. Yours Sincerely Brook Brook Keir Chief Horse Steward Royal National Capital Agricultural Society
22.01.2022 Last for today but one of the most important components of our Show world.....FOOD. Missing our wonderful caterers who feed and water our workforce and guests. Sign not quite right girls but 2022 will be here before you know it.
19.01.2022 Going to be a massive January in 2022 Our Show, Tooradin tractor pull and the Kilcunda Lobster Festival.
19.01.2022 As we continue to read about cancelled events and festivals both big and small take a moment to think about what has gone into that Event especially country shows put together by volunteers, relying on local and regional sponsorship and up to their neck in Local Shire OHS regulations. Add the PANDEMIC even in its dying stages hopefully by autumn. ... another chapter to the OHS manual which we have to agree to to get a Permit to run and also and no coverage for a pandemic public liability. What you see is the tip of the iceberg, what we would be going through is under that waterline.
18.01.2022 Courtesy of this weeks Sent Times - Go and read the full article - very interesting and thank you Michael Giles ........ FROM the pages of the Wonthaggi Sentinel and State Town Miner, February 14, 1919. Influenza epidemic No fresh cases in Wonthaggi. There have been no positive cases of influenza since our last issue, and up to the time of going to press the efforts of the health officer, hospital committee, officers of the Borough Council, and others have been successful ...in preventing the spread of the epidemic in Wonthaggi.Prompt precautions were taken when the first suspicious case came under notice, and all cases are con-fined to hospital. The patients are isolated and on inquiry yesterday, Matron Jory informed us that they are all doing well.Although four patients were admit-ted to the isolation tent during the week, none of them are positive cases, and one or two may be discharged to-day, Friday. At present, nine patients are accommodated in the isolation tent. Although the outbreak in Wonthaggi is well in hand, and there is no occasion for alarm, the public are advised to take all precautions and thereby greatly assist those who are doing all that is possible to prevent the spread of the epidemic.Up to Tuesday last, 1695 persons were inoculated at the town hall. In the following week, patients continued to recover with Dr Sleeman and Matron Jory given further credit for containing the disease. The prompt action taken by Dr Sleeman (health officer) in containing all places where a case had occurred has had the effect of checking the spread of the epidemic, and the indications this week are that it is abating. However, all precautions should continue to betaken by the general public. Since the first case occurred, seven houses have been quarantined. The quarantine has been lifted from four of these. It has been freely stated that in a couple of instances, the regulations have not been observed, and that some of the inmates have been knocking about the streets. Any person breaking quarantine is liable to a heavy penalty for it is almost a criminal offence and it is not giving a fair deal to the health officer and all others who are doing their best to protect the general public from the risk of infection. All sensible people admit the necessity of quarantine and the few who refuse to submit to it should be dealt with in another way, in the interests of many. The Dalyston show has been postponed until 2nd April. Entries close on 17th March See more

12.01.2022 UPDATE: Royal Canberra Show 2021 Due to COVID 19 Restrictions the 2021 Royal Canberra Show held on 26-28 February has been cancelled. The Society will stage Ro...yal Cattle and Dog Show in late February 2021. These shows will not be open to the public and will have less than 500 participants each. They will be COVID compliant. The horse show has been postponed until later in 2021, with new dates to be confirmed soon. It is very disappointing to have to make this decision. The last time the Society cancelled the show was in 1943 during World War 2. All the very best to all our supporters for Christmas and the New Year. Let us hope that next year will be kinder to all of us Regards, Geoff Cannock Chief Executive (Volunteer) Royal National Capital Agricultural Society
