13.01.2022 Welcome to Term 3 and my apologies for the delay in this post. It is with sadness that unfortunately Coach Nick is no longer Coaching in Geraldton or for BTC. Nick took a fantastic coaching opportunity in Perth as a Head Coach at Kardinya Tennis Club under MGTA. This role will be great for Nicks Development as a coach moving forward and BTC has no doubt he will do a brilliant job. Nick was a fantastic asset to BTC and the Midwest region for almost 4 years. He will be greatly missed and I wish to thank Nick for his hard work, dedication & passion to BTC and the region with Tennis. We wish Nick all the best at your new role and with your future endeavours.

11.01.2022 Dear Tennis Clients, Clubs and or Schools. It is with great sadness and excitement that I Colin Thompson ( Coach Colsie ) wanted to inform you that I am leaving... Geraldton and won’t be coaching here after 31 August 2019. I have accepted a fantastic opportunity and position with Tennis ACT in Canberra (Tennis Australia ) as the Club Development Officer. I will be responsible for servicing 34 Tennis Clubs and this role is a great opportunity for me moving forward in the Tennis Industry. This role is a great prospect for myself moving forward in the Tennis Trade and I am extremely grateful to Tennis Australia and Tennis ACT for the confidence for the future. I want to say a huge thank you to all our loyal Batavia Tennis Coaching players, families and supporters that have come to our courts over the years. I wanted to thank everyone who has been part of what made us so successful. We have come a long way since we started with only 50 players to now servicing over 600 players per week. I also want to thank Tennis West, Midwest Zone and North Midlands Region and all the schools for their support and partnership over the years and confidence in me as your Tennis Development Officer. After 16 years of seemingly 24/7 tennis I will be finishing coaching here on 31 August and this is to allow me some time to sort out the logistics of moving interstate to start my new role. By way of a little history over the last 16 years; BTC has coached a registered 6921 Tennis Hot Shots Players; an average of 988 players per year. A further 218 registered Cardio Tennis players; an average of 36 players per year. BTC has coached 22 players who represented WA in state teams, we have had one player go on to the College circuit in the USA on a Sporting Scholarship. BTC has been involved in winning 12 Regional Championship titles with 13 Runner-Up placings along with 5 3rd place finishes. BTC has been involved with winning the State schools classic competition on 6 occasions and finishing Runner-up on 1 occasion. Finally, BTC has been fortunate enough to win Local Business Awards as well as State and National Coaching Awards. I have been lucky enough to be selected to coach WA teams at national events. We have also won the WA Foundation Cup and D'arcy Slater Cups. These are massive achievements for our region and all the people who have been part of it with us. BTC have taken players all over WA & Australia to compete. All amazing experiences! We have seen tens of thousands of players at schools and clubs and helped them enjoy the great sport. We have also trained over 25 assistant coaches who have assisted us during sessions and gone on to coach at Uni and some are still coaching at clubs today! There is a great opportunity to "pass the baton" and the of future of Tennis in this region is bright for another coach and you will all be notified at a later date for the future of tennis in Term 4. This new role for me is an amazing situation that was impossible to pass up even though I love this region, the clubs and people I have worked with over the last 16 years. This role and my responsibilities are growing and I have to move away to achieve my dreams. Thank you once again and I will miss all of you Best of luck to everyone for the future.
