25.01.2022 Congratulations to everyone who completed the bike ride and canoeing activity yesterday from Dalmeny to Narooma. After a chilly start we warmed up with a pictureqse ride from Dalmeny to Narooma and were treated to near perfect conditions for heading up river and a special well done to everyone for braving the fresh water at the start during the aquatics and canoe safety instruction. We were treated to stingrays and seals along the journey and the fish and chips at the end was a really nice reward. It is amazing how much the waft of fish and chips across the water can motivate a bunch of intrepid paddlers!

09.01.2022 CLYDE MOUNTAIN FIRE OUT - A HUGE THANKS TO ALL THAT FOUGHT IT This is from our wonderful RFS... On the 29th December the southern section of the Currowan fire ...that had crossed the Kings Hwy became known as the Clyde Mt fire. This fire grew to 99,000 ha and destroyed over 400 homes, countless outbuildings and caused so much grief for all affected. After 49 days we are relieved to finally be able to declare that the Clyde Mt fire is out. Repeated thermal imaging runs have shown that there are no remaining hot spots that could lead to any further spread of this fire. We fully appreciate that declaring a fire out doesnt mean that the ordeal is over. The recovery journey is a challenging pathway that has different twists and turns for all of us, but with patience and compassion we will navigate a way through this over time.

05.01.2022 Today we had a static stand at the Batemans Bay Seaside Carnivale. A very big thank you to the Lions Club of Batemans Bay for organising today. It was great working in the community together for such a fun day. Patrick took on the pie eating contest on behalf of the 1st Batemans Bay Scout Group - didnt win but one way to get a free meal (typical Venturer).... Some of our Scouts took on the Lamington eating contest - but no photos turned out good enough to post owing to the photographers laughing so hard. Thank you to all youth and the Leaders who came along today for their support as well. Fingers Crossed our numbers will grow after your efforts today.

03.01.2022 A recently released study by mozo.com.au on after school activities shows that, across all capital cities, the average base fee of Scouting was less than any ot...her activity. We hope these results will encourage more families to try Scouting and find what 56,000 young Australians already know - Scouts offers friendships, fun, challenge and adventure.
