25.01.2022 Light trails usually are captured of car lights however, in this fantastic image by Thomas R-J of the Brisbane Photography Group he has used the river along Kangaroo Point in Brisbane. This has resulted in great light trails of boats on the river. Want to improve your photography, have fun, and meet new people? Come along to the Bathurst Photography Group meetups and classes. 24.01.2022 Terry Enlow of the San Francisco Photography Group has captured, what could have been just 2 chairs into a great image, by balancing the image symmetrically. This is a great technique of photographers to intentionally capture a scene that if split looks like it is a mirror image. Want to improve your photography, have fun, and meet new people? 22.01.2022 Dennis Herrera of the Denver Photography Group captured this image in just one shot. Many thought it may have been several images put together however, Dennis explained that he sat at the end of 16th and waited until the perfect time. 17.01.2022 Taken at the famous Portland Head Lighthouse in Portland, Maine. This picture is the first one taken on the way to Acadia National Park. Immediately after landing, he headed towards the lighthouse only to find that the light was really flat by the time he arrived. So he decided to do a long exposure to compensate for that. Giving the waves a kind of silky texture and also, the photo looks dramatic and mysterious. This was shot using a Nikon D700 with a 24-70 f/ 2.8 lens at 35...mm. Jose used an Induro tripod with a Really Right Stuff ball head. Upon arrival, Jose found myself among 20 to 30 other photographers. I wanted to take home the beauty of this place but also, wanted something a little different. Wandering away from the crowd he looked for a different composition and to give it a personal touch. At the end, it was all worth it. Landscape photography requires post-processing and this image is not the exception. First, Jose did a black and white conversion using Silver Effects from Nik, dodge and burn selectively using luminosity masks and finally, added a vignette to draw the attention towards the center of the image. 17.01.2022 Peacock At Floyd Lamb Park Breathtaking subjects rarely look more beautiful in a photo. Photographers try to capture the full display of peacock feathers by backing up or zooming out, so that all the feathers are in the frame. But this distant perspective can actually make the feathers look smaller and less impressive. Well done Herbert you have captured a really nice sharp image with brilliant composition. 17.01.2022 Charles saw storms rolling in, so he began to drive toward them to catch bolts off of the ocean. Though by the time he arrived, it had died out. He wasnt going home empty-handed, so instead he glanced at the radar and saw cells coming from the west. He drove further and finally settled on a location and found a nice, dark open spot. 15.01.2022 A time, a place, an emotion. Slower shutter speeds like 1/60 second and slower cause a blurring effect. 08.01.2022 Matthew Cope is a photographer from Tampa Photography Group he goes go by (M.C Photography) Matt ventured out of his local area of St.Pete Florida and headed down to Bradenton riverwalk. He decided to look for something that stood out and something you dont see every day. There was a train track bridge that went across the Manatee River that was old and no longer in use. Matt wanted that to be in the photo so he searched around an noticed a small mangrove plant growing out o...f a wood pillar an that is something you dont see every day an the two just clicked. Matt wanted the plant as his main subject and the train tracks to be in the background. In any scene with several subjects or objects in the front and back of the frame, the foreground elements will catch the eye in the first instant. If the foreground was empty this would have given the image less impact. Photo Credit: Matt Cope Tampa Photography Group Want to improve your photography, have fun, and meet new people?
