25.01.2022 The Musician Schedule at a glance! We are very grateful for the time that these wonderful Bathurst musicians have put into rehearsals for our fundraising Spring Spectacular event. It is a wonderful collaboration with the Mitchell Conservatorium and others and the gardens are even more spectacular with glorious music being played in all 10 gardens.
24.01.2022 Our Spring Spectacular where we raised $19,000 for local community groups from ticket sales last year, couldnt happen without the financial support of our Sponsors. We thank them VERY much for their contributions as the whole of them pays for all the background things such as printing etc. so that all ticket sales goes directly to the recipients such as Lions Club Drought Relief Appeal, Bathurst Community Transport Radiation Bus, headspace, 2BS Christmas Miracle Appeal, Def...ence Community Dogs and the Mitchell Conservatorium. See the Sponsor Display at the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre when you go and buy your tickets for the Spring Spectacular. Tickets are on sale now but dont forget we will be having our Members Plant Stall and Market Stalls on the Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th October - Spring Spectacular weekend! @ [306283666103369:274:Visit Bathurst NSW] Australian Native Landscapes ANL 2bs 95.1 FM Bathurst City Life Bathurst Buslines The Bathurst Spring Spectacular Bathurst Regional Council Bishops Court Estate Ben Chifley Motor Inn Bathurst Bathurst Mowerland & Heating Brian Burke Printing Bunnings Warehouse Australia Burkes Transport Churches Garden Centre Easy Living Footwear Fifty8GEORGE Fish & Sons Greenacres Turf Farm Bathurst Real Estate Hothams Sand, Soil & Gravel Supplies Mitchell Conservatorium Mitchell Batteries Petries Mitre 10 - Bathurst Pigments & Palettes Framing & Fine Art Supplies Red Chair Boutique Riverside Nursery Scott Mitchell Plumbing Terri Crumpler - Marriage Celebrant @Varman Landscaping WaterMart - Bathurst See more
24.01.2022 Update from our publicity officer MEDIA RELEASE BATHURST SPRING SPECTACULAR PLANT AND GARDEN EXPO... With substantial rain in recent months resulting in the easing of water restrictions Spring 2020 is shaping up to be glorious in Bathurst. The Bathurst Gardeners Club is enthusiastic to present to the community the inaugural Bathurst Spring Spectacular Plant and Garden Expo this Saturday 24th October. The Expo will be held in Lions Berry Park (near the showground) from 9.30am 5.00pm. Entry will be gold coin donation. All COVID-19 safety protocols will apply to the event with Hand sanitiser available at several stations at the Expo. The Expo will provide an opportunity for the community to revitalise their gardens after the extended dry period. A wide range of merchandise will be available from the 35 stall holders who have indicated they will participate. Several local nurseries will offer a cornucopia of annuals, shrubs and garden ornaments while a specialist maple nursery will have many varieties of that sought-after tree species. Local growers will be selling their favourite plants and the Bathurst Gardeners Club will have their ever-popular Monster Plant Stall. Garden ornaments galore will be available from any number of sellers, ranging from statues through sculptures to wind chimes. There will be garden furniture made from solid red gum, a range of garden tools, pots and mushroom growing kits. The council will be on hand to advise on water saving while other experts will be there to help with landscaping, bonsai, watering systems and tourism information. For those who are beginning to think of their Christmas shopping, stallholders will have linen, candles, baskets, jewellery and books. Hunger and thirst will be catered for with a Lions barbecue, a Quota food stall, a coffee van and a smokehouse specialist with a range of smoked meats. Students from the Mitchell Conservatorium will be playing music throughout the day. All in all, it will be a great fun day in a strictly COVID-safe environment. Bathurst Gardeners Club will donate funds raised at the EXPO to the Daffodil Cottage Wig Library, Mitchell Conservatorium scholarships and the 2BS Lions Club Christmas Miracle Appeal. The EXPO will have a further benefit in that it will provide a fund-raising opportunity for a number of local charities, as well as a man who sells sheep manure to raise funds to support a childrens’ home in Bangladesh! 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone so come to the inaugural Bathurst Spring Spectacular Plant and Garden Expo this Saturday, 24th October for some safe enjoyment with a gardening theme. 18.01.2022 Bathurst Spring Spectacular 2020 is now cancelled Following careful consideration, and in light of the uncertainty surrounding government-mandated Covid 19 restrictions, as well as a number of other factors, the Bathurst Spring Spectacular Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Bathurst Spring Spectacular garden weekend, which was to be held in October this year. Apart from not wanting to put visitors, volunteers and garden owners at risk, the severe ...water restrictions as a result of the drought has meant that it has been extremely difficult to find suitable gardens for the Spectacular and recent withdrawals by owners has reduced the number of gardens below that which are required to make the event viable. As it takes garden owners many months of work and expense to prepare a garden for this event , it was necessary to make the decision to postpone sooner rather than later. Next year, with (hopefully) a return to kinder conditions, many local gardens which have suffered as a result of the drought will have recovered and even adapted to flourish again. At this stage, we are proceeding with plans to run the Plant and Garden Expo. in Lions Berry Park on Saturday 24th October. and we would encourage Gardeners Club members as well as community members to support this exciting event featuring many stalls and demonstrations. The Bathurst Spring Spectacular will return again in 2021 and we plan to make it a wonderful celebration for all garden lovers and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Bathurst to enjoy our beautiful gardens and a return to a safer and healthy world.
