24.01.2022 I have read some of Brene Browns books, and recently watched her special on Netflix about courage and vulnerability. Check it out if you haven’t already. So what are your thoughts with being vulnerable???? Are you ok being vulnerable ??... My immediate reaction would be hell no right?? Why is that we have this built in need to protect ourselves?? In today’s world being vulnerable is perceived as weak - well at least that’s what has been programmed into me... But maybe it’s not ideal to live with this thought pattern inside of us. If you look at the dictionary definition it actually sounds amazing to be vulnerable. Definition of vulnerable: Being open, and genuine about feelings of the heart, mind, body and soul. Trust without self judgement or fear of reaction and judgment from others. Joy, acceptance, love pain, sadness, or illness may come to the forefront of attention and feel overwhelming when one is vulnerable; because of being exposed to pure honest emotions. There is healing, strength and power in having confidence to admit, let go and forgive. Vulnerability is a chance to grow and shed pieces of the past. One can be susceptible to being attacked or influenced if fear is present or in being in a fearful or unsafe situation. That is being defenseless and helpless in not standing in your power. Let’s try have more courage and be more vulnerable- I think the world would be a much nicer place to live in, don’t you Do you avoid being vulnerable or are you courageous???
