10.01.2022 M - Make it happen! We know exams can be a daunting time, so here’s some ways to prepare and recover from all the hard work once the day itself rolls around!! It’s been a big semester. So be proud of and look after yourself! You made it!!! Here are our tips on approaching and finishing exams:... Tip 1: On the day You’ve worked hard, and you know your stuff. Take a moment to be proud of yourself! Before the exam, do something that makes you feel good. Maybe that’s some mindfulness, music, good food or exercise. That way you can go into your exam knowing you’re well fed, hydrated, and feeling like your best self!! Tip 2: Once you’re done on the exam Well done!! Solid effort - take a moment to appreciate the feelings that come to you upon finishing an exam. Maybe that’s relief, relaxation, or even excitement! Let yourself feel proud, too, the hard work is over for the semester! Tip 3: Once it’s all done and dusted Treat yourself to some post-exam self-care. You really deserve it!! Let yourself splurge a little, maybe on food, or some online shopping. Exercise, catch up with mates, talk about how it all went! Even something as simple as a hot shower or bath (or even a couple cheeky wines) can be part of your celebrations - whatever you do, use it to congratulate yourself. You’ve absolutely smashed it!! That’s it for our exam posts this semester!! Thanks for tuning in, and congratulations getting here

Tip 1: manage your time First thing’s first: give yourself enough time to study. Create a timetable and note your exam dates so you can plan what you need to study in advance. Tip 2: set the scene Study at a space that’s comfortable for you. If you’re studying at home, why not organise your study space and remove distractions, such as your mobile phone. Tip 3: practice, practice, practice Have a go at past exam papers or practice exams if you can get your hands on them. Flash cards are also a good tool to use to help you study effectively. 01.01.2022 It's R U OK? Day! Does it feel like a mate isn't doing so great? Trust that gut instinct and ask. Asking isn't always easy, but it could change a life Some tips on how to ask: 1. Ask R U OK? If they don't want to talk, don't criticise them, but still offer support! If they do want to chat, make sure you're prepared to have a conversation, be a listening ear, and support them! ... 2. Listen with an open mind! Take what they say seriously, let them take their time, and show you've listened by repeating key information back! 3. Encourage action! See what they've done in the past to get help. If they're seeking help already: awesome! Let them know you're there for them anyway! But if they're struggling to get help, let them know you're happy to help them get in touch with a health professional! 4. Check in! This is super important. Let them know you are there for them longterm and check in with them in a couple weeks. See how they're going. See if they've been able to get in touch with a professional. Genuine concern and care can make a real difference! Check out the R U OK?
