25.01.2022 How exciting, we won! The Bauer Media team was announced today as the winner of the Mumbrella CommsCon Award for the Best Government Relations Campaign. Our #StopElderFinancialAbuse campaign is a company-wide initiative we are extremely proud of, and we were thrilled to instigate real change last year to support some of Australias most vulnerable. Passing legislation change is not an easy task but we achieved it by teaming up with the Australian Banking Association and getting the power of Bauers brands and the engaged audience behind the campaign. #CommsConAwards

24.01.2022 There aren't many brands that are speaking solely to Gen Z and they are quite different to other generations, Anna Preston, head of strategy at Bauer Media, tells @adnewsaustralia. So I think having a space that can talk more solely to them, and to women as well, is really powerful. Right before the pandemic hit, Bauer launched a new Gen Z digital platform called Syrup. Created as an inclusive and unisex destination for people aged 16 to 22, Syrup speaks to a forward-thi...nking audience who are still discovering who they are and where they fit in the world. Bauer commissioned an AI research piece, OFFSCRIPT, to understand how to best connect with this rising generation. This revealing research was used to shape the Syrup product and inform its direction. AdNews chatted to Syrups editor Mahalia Chang and Bauers head of strategy Anna Preston about the companys focus on the Gen Z audience. https://www.adnews.com.au//bauer-s-new-digital-only-title- #offscript #genz #morethanwords

24.01.2022 The latest Australian Womens Weekly Icons issue celebrates some of the early trailblazers for equal rights, people who overcame tremendous barriers to pave the way forward for others. This poignant issue features singer, actress and civil rights activist Lena Horne, whose refusal to play by the rules set out for her as a black performer would lead to huge breakthroughs; original multi-hyphenate Annette Kellerman, who challenged the eras perception of women and broke multipl...e barriers; Violet McKenzie, who played a crucial role in the Second World War and opened the doors for women to serve in the armed forces; and the incredible friendship of Sammy Davis Jr and Frank Sinatra who together opened up the entertainment sphere for black artists worldwide. To read all about these true icons, along with the glitz, stories, fashions and love affairs of the bygone era, the Icons issue #6 is on sale now. Hollywoods Golden Age certainly hasnt diminished with time.
