17.01.2022 Bay Centre Medical will be closed from 12noon Thursday 31st December 2020. We will reopen Saturday 2nd January 2021 at 8am-12noon. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our patients and safe, happy and COVID free end to 2020.

17.01.2022 Letting all our lovely patients know, we will be having Pfizer vaccine clinic appointments available from September 13th.Please call the surgery to schedule your appointment. Please be patient with the rollout, but we will do our best to vaccinate all eligible patients. Be it Astra Zeneca or Pfizer- we have both. So be safe, and vaccinate!



13.01.2022 At Bay Centre Medical we already maintain strict hygiene and infection control procedures. As a precaution, we have also implemented additional measures including: Providing hand sanitisers in the reception areas. Please use these when you arrive. Extra precautionary equipment and surface sanitisation Removal of magazines from the waiting areas and social distancing.... Telehealth consultations are available to patients who meet a certain criteria until 30th March 2020. PRESENT CRITERIA - people aged over 70 - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged over 50 - people with chronic health conditions or who are immunocompromised - parents with new babies and people who are pregnant. -People in isolation or quarantine for COVID-19 can see any eligible health provider through new telehealth items. Patients in vulnerable groups can additionally see a health provider via telehealth for a non-COVID-19 matter if they have seen that provider face-to-face at least once in the previous 12 months. CRITERIA FROM MARCH 30TH 2020 Telehealth consultations will be available to everyone from March 30th 2020. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW : Have you have traveled overseas in the last 14 days or have had close contact with a COVID-19 case ??? CLOSE CONTACT or TRAVELED OVERSEAS If you have traveled overseas in the past 14 days- self isolate. A close contact is someone who has been face to face for at least 15 minutes, or been in the same closed space for at least 2 hours, or someone who has tested positive for the COVID-19 when that person was infectious. If you have been identified to have had close contact with someone who is confirmed to have infection with COVID-19 whilst they were infectious, you must: ISOLATE YOURSELF AT HOME Isolate yourself at home until 14 days after you were last exposed to the infectious person. You should not leave the house, except for seeking medical care. You should stay in a different room from other people as much as possible, and wear a surgical mask when you are in the same room as another person and when seeking medical care. Use a separate bathroom if available. Do not go to work, school, or public areas, and do not use public transportation, taxi services or ride shares. Watch for signs and symptoms: fever cough shortness of breath other early symptoms to watch for are chills, body aches, sore throat, headache and runny nose, muscle pain or diarrhoea IF YOU DEVELOP SYMPTOMS If you are seriously unwell and it is an emergency, call 000 immediately. Continue to keep yourself apart from other people as much as possible. Wear a surgical mask if you have one. Call your local public health unit on 1300 066 055, they will assess you and advise on what to do next. We will continue to update you as the situation unfolds but rest assured that your health is our first priority and you’re in safe hands while visiting our clinics.

COVID-19 vaccines help to prevent serious illness and death from COVID-19, and they are free for everyone in Australia. Bay Centre Medical is pleased to advise that we are an approved vaccination provider for COVID-19 vaccines. We are happy to help provide COVID-19 immunisation for our local area and wider community. COVID-19 vaccines are being rolled out to people in ph...ases, with those most at risk receiving their vaccinations first. Bay Centre Medical will receive the AstraZeneca vaccine early to mid April 2021. Bay Centre Medical will contact you to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to our patients most at risk. 05.01.2022 Bay Centre Medical will be closed from 12 noon Thursday 24th December till Monday 28th December from 8am-12 noon. Monday will be a walk in clinic only at our Byron Bay location. Suffolk Park surgery will be closed. After such a hectic year, we wish everyone a healthy and happy Christmas.



02.01.2022 Bay Centre Medical will be closed for the Australia Day Public Holiday. Be safe and well. We will reopen Wednesday 27th January at 8am.
