25.01.2022 I received a beautiful email this week from a lady who knew Baylin through Coles. She also sent me a message when we lost him. Letting me know how loved he was, even by random strangers like herself. He was the first person she met when they moved to Kempsey, and he was the reason she continued to shop there. This meant so very much to me at the time, and still does in so many ways. Her employer Back Paddock Company, held a small fundraiser to support mental health in the workplace. Katy was the lucky winner and got to choose who the money went to. She chose us. And while the $77 might not seem like a huge amount, the fact that Katy continues to think of Baylin and wanted to support Baylins Gift, is absolutely priceless in my book. We thank you Katy. And all the other employees who participated in this important fundraiser.

24.01.2022 A massive big thank you to Zodiac and their awesome customers who filled our donation tin for Mental Health Month in October. You guys raised a huge $111.30. We very much appreciate the support from staff and all the coffee addicts

24.01.2022 How lucky are we to have one of these amazing speakers in our own backyard. Congratulations Melissa Robinson.

23.01.2022 For a very special lady who I got to hug today. Grief is a very tough road. Take your time. Do it your way. Expect the unexpected. ... And know that you were very loved. See more

16.01.2022 For a few years now the Holdaway family have had a Baylins Gift donation tin at their Xmas lights. We have been very thankful for both the offer and to those that donate each year This year Lisa, Josh and family have asked us to be involved in having our BG stall (however a smaller version). After a bit of discussion we have put together the below and I have to say I am quite excited. On the mentioned dates we will have a selection of kids and adult tees, baby singlets and... bodysuits, coffee mugs and stubby holders for you to purchase. As we've been unable to attend many markets this year, we thought it was a great idea for those wanting to pick up some last minute presents. On the 11th and 18th I will be there so purchases can be paid for by eftpos. However the other nights the Holdaway family will be helping you so can only be cash payments. If anyone has any particular items that they would like that won't be brought along, I'm happy to get it together for pickup on those dates. A massive thank you to the Holdaway family for this exciting idea. I think it's going to be a heap of fun Hope to see you there See more

09.01.2022 Just a reminder that this is on tomorrow morning for those interested in attending..

09.01.2022 BG is super excited to be joining Kempsey Shire Council in this new project. The first blue tree was painted by Jayden Whyte. Jayden has since passed away by suicide. So now people around the world are creating discussion and raising awareness of mental health by painting a tree blue. There is currently 604 blue trees. We are making it 605. The mission is to spark difficult conversations and encourage people to speak up when battling mental health concerns. ... By spreading the paint and spreading the message that "it's OK to not be OK ", we can help break down the stigma that's still largely attached to mental health. Please join us if mental health issues or suicide has touched you or your family. We start at 9am at First Lane Kempsey (the dirt lane), and we'd be happy with any small amount of time you can give. If you have a paintbrush please bring it along. We'll make sure we have some spares. Don't forget old clothes and a hat as well. Kempsey suicide prevention will be cooking a free BBQ to finish off. Water will be provided. Come and be a part of creating this amazing idea for our community. Many hands make light work

05.01.2022 Today. And every day

04.01.2022 Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. Or so the saying goes. In reality - words do hurt - a lot. Geek, nerd, four eyes, loner, fa...tty, ugly, loser, weirdo, annoying. None of these are nice words to hear, but for many kids around Australia, hearing these words daily is their reality. Research suggests that 1 in 4 Aussie kids will be bullied each year - teased, tormented, and isolated for being ‘different’. These kids fear waking up every morning, not knowing what horrors await them when they get to school. And often, they won’t want to ask for help for fear of being labelled weak. What if that 1 in 4 was your kid? It is National Bullying Prevention Week in Australia, but sadly, bullying is not something that is limited to a single week of the year. It may not be a problem that makes headlines every day, but still, it is one that is constantly touching the lives of people across Australia. Those getting involved in bullying may not realise it at the time, but what they are doing ruins lives; with bullying being one of the biggest contributors to depression, anxiety, and suicide globally. It’s time to put an end to bullying! Stand up for victims by refusing to accept victimisation, hate, exclusion and intolerance. It’s time to advocate for inclusion, kindness, empathy and acceptance. If you choose, please copy and paste this in honour of all children who are impacted by bullying. Our world would be far less beautiful without them. It’s time to spread the word, and let your family and friends know that bullying is never OK. Please share.
