14.01.2022 Hello everyone! Weve had a few phone calls this morning asking about new restrictions announced by the Queensland Government earlier today. As we operate under an industry approved CovidSafe plan, our dance classes (including our mock exams this weekend) continue as normal. There are currently no further restrictions for businesses following CovidSafe plans. Ensure that you help us follow our plan by - keeping dancers at home if theyre unwell... - signing in if staying in the waiting room for longer than 15min - not entering the waiting room unless necessary/with a preschool aged dancer (our new outdoor CCTV display will be set up this afternoon!) As always, we closely monitor updates from government to ensure we are meeting all our requirements, so if anything changes we will be in touch. At this stage there is no cause for concern, but vigilance is always important. Thank you for all your help in keeping our dancers safe and healthy!

11.01.2022 We are SO proud of our big kids who had their covid-safe concerts today! You all danced so beautifully and we are thankful to have had the opportunity to dance together today, when so many dancers all over the world aren’t going to have that chance. We can’t wait to share it with all our parents and family on video soon! Thank you to our incredible teachers for their choreography and to our whole team who made this come together. You’d think concerts without costumes and tick...et sales would be less work - but it’s not our team made it seamless! Thank you as well to our BD parents who loaned us their munchkins today. We are so excited that restrictions are being lifted and that we will be able to have you in the audience again for 2021 There’s four more weeks of dancing left before we warp up on Saturday 12 December, and don’t forget it’s DRESS UP WEEK next week!!!

04.01.2022 Dear parents and dancers, This year I don’t get to do my post-concert speech like I usually would, so instead I wanted to write you a letter. What a year it has been! I feel like I say that at the end of every year, but this year seems that much more than other years...for obvious reasons!... At the moment I’m hearing a lot of I don’t want to repeat 2020 or hurry up and get to 2021. And at times, I have felt like that too. But to wish away this year would be to wash away so many achievements by our dancers. Those who came to their first dance class. Those who learnt to skip for the first time or got down into the splits for the first time. Those who sat exams and scored better than ever. Those who battled injury and illness, yet remained resilient. Those who found happiness and joy inside the walls of our studio, when maybe it was hard to find elsewhere. Running a dance studio during a pandemic has been an exercise in learning to accept what I can control, adapting where necessary and learning to find the light, however dark it may be. I certainly haven’t done it alone, and have many people to thank for helping see Bayside Dance through the course of this year. First of all, our wonderful teaching staff. Without you, there would be no classes, no smiling students, no joy. I’m forever grateful for your creativity, generosity and energy. To our amazing administration team who continued to provide incredible customer service and support, even when we didn’t know which way was up for a while there. To my family. There are no words. I love you. To our ever amazing students. You are what keeps us going and what makes us wake up in the morning, put on our sneakers and seize the day. Your teachers and I adore you and hope that we have inspired in you a passion, not just for dance but for life. Lastly, thank you to all our parents and carers, who may have battled their own demons through 2020, yet still found it in themselves to give their children the gift that is dance. We are forever grateful that you’ve made Bayside Dance a part of your family this year. Here is to a year that was, and here is to many more. There will be ups and downs, swings and roundabouts, but I know we can dance through this together. Yours through dance, Miss Kaitlin
