22.01.2022 Hi Everyone, it is with a heavy heart I need to announce, that at our latest WVSA meeting, the Club's and the Committee resolved to confirm that, we will be amalgamating with our Northside junior counterparts and all Junior Softball will be played out at Hawker for the foreseeable future. The primary reason for this decision has come about due to a dramatic and continuing downward decline in our games membership numbers. We look foward to the coming years to rebuild and stren...gthen our Clubs and membership numbers with a view to returning to the region proving grass roots softball again. We at WVSA also look forward to participating in a centralised competition at Hawker with the dedicated staff at ACT Softball who will no doubt be running a professional junior competition that we as a community will all enjoy. So in short, onwards and upwards and lets all get behind this and build our game. "Let's make Softball great again." I would also like to throw a massive shout out to the old guard, Mon Pearson, Anne and Alf Newsome, Karen and Brad Vance and Dan Mackay for all their hardwork, dedication and commitment to WVSA and the children for such a long time. I would also like to throw a massive shout out to all the Clubs that supported WVSA over the years. Queanbeyan Bears, Storm, Sutherland, YPS, Whispers and the Woden Giants. Last but not least a massive thankyou to all the Mums and Dads who volunteeted their time and effort to running such a sucessfull competition for such a long time. 50 Years is an amazing achievement for any sporting orhanisation. I look foward to seeing you all at our next AGM so we can forge a new look WVSA into the future. Luke

19.01.2022 Hi Everybody this years Mon Pearson award will be awarded to a Junior player who exhibited great sportsman like conduct. Thus I need each Club to email me thier nomination and a short spill why they think that player deserves the award. I will provide Mon your nominations for her consideration. The award will be awarded at our final round at Hawker on GF weekend. Luke

07.01.2022 Hi Errbody The WVSA lightning rep tball team will be facing off at our extremely capable northside tball counterparts this saturday at 2pm at Hawker. So come along and watch one of the oldest sporting rivalries since St George and the Rabbittohs and cheer the kids along. ... Then hang around to watch the kids hand out the medals to the open men grandfinalists. Im sure the ACT men will be there. See you all there. Luke
