12.01.2022 Last weekend, our band performed for the first time since the pandemic effectively shut down community music making. We were invited to perform at the Pinaroo Cemetery Missing Persons Memorial for a commemorative service in aid of National Missing Persons Week. The gardens and memorial fountain provide a place for reflection and hope for the families and friends of loved ones who have not returned.

11.01.2022 Once again, we are delighted to have started off Today's Wynnum Manly Australia Day Community Breakfast with Australian Repertoire; Brass Band Style. From AC/DC to Midnight Oil, and the Wiggles, to Australiana classics. We also wish to thank Port of Brisbane Rotary as our partner as well as the support of Joan Pease MP. We also take time to acknowledge the Aboriginal peoples of Quandamooka as the traditional custodians of the land upon which our wonderful Bandstand sits. ... Happy Australia Day everyone!"

11.01.2022 Our Solo Horn Player, Julie Pierce was recently invited to participate in this video entry for the famous Whit Friday Brass Band competition. The Whit Friday competition is a very large and famous UK Band competition weekend held in Saddleworth, which was sadly cancelled in 2020. Julie was asked to record her part and some video footage for the 'Whit Spirit Group’ consisting of Brass banders from around the world. ... Julie represented Australia and Bayside Brass in this marvellous combination of global talent. Julie met the Musical Director, Martyn Stogden in December 2014 while in London visiting see her daughter, who was nannying in North London. Julie saw there was a local brass band near where she was staying and enquired if she could watch the band rehearse. Instead, she was loaned a tenor horn a joined in over a dozen gigs all over London, including the London New Years Day Parade 2015. Another Bayside Brass member has performed with North London Brass and we have had one of their members perform with us.
