25.01.2022 Pre Polling is currently open and voting day is fast approaching. Don’t be conned by the untruths, deceitful memes and outright lies of this Liberal/National Government. Labor is not going to shut down our mines. Labor never suggested or proposed a death tax of any fashion. Labor has not made deals with the Greens. What they have promised is to fight for the conditions of working Australians and to fix the casualization rort that blights our industry and victimises many ...of our friends and families and local communities. If you really want to know what Labor policies are check them out here: https://www.alp.org.au/policies/ If a vote to a minor party is your plan as a protest just remember that it will only be a Labor or Liberal Government that gets in, be sure who that minor party is preferencing. A vote for Palmer is a vote for Liberal. A vote for Hanson is a vote for the Nationals. None of these candidates support our workers rights and will continue to fight against them for the benefit of the multinational companies they support over us.

20.01.2022 Unfortunately the Basedow family have had to go to the USA to get life saving surgery for their son, Johey. The medical and travel expenses are in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, a huge expense, but one we would all make to save one of our children. To assist the family with this financial burden raffle tickets are being sold to raise funds. A table will be set up this weekend between the coal room and bathhouse where these tickets will be available. Please dig deep to assist one of our own. A bonus to assisting the Basedow family is there are some great prizes to be won.

07.01.2022 We are cancelling the May Lodge meetings that were recently advertised. There is not a lot to discuss following the first EA meeting that has not or will not be discussed with each crew by the Delegates, as no negotiations commenced due to the time limitations. Also, our District VP will not be available to attend all meetings. We propose to hold Lodge meetings after our next round of EA talks on the 22nd May, where we will have a lot more context around the log of claims presented by the company and negotiations under way.
