25.01.2022 Dear Parents, The following notice from Beleza was received by the school. 27/03/2020... Dear School Community, Beleza Boronia Store - Coronavirus update: Temporary closure of retail and campus stores In the interest of everyone's ongoing health and safety, we have decided to temporarily close all of our retail and campus stores until further notice. We apologise in advance for any inconveniences this may cause, however our top priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. We will reopen our retail and campus stores when we know that it is safe to do so, and we look forward to seeing you, your students and your school community once this health crisis has passed. We will still be operating our online store and warehouse for as long as it is safe to do so, and we will extend our offer of 50% off the cost of shipping within Victoria for online orders at https://store.beleza.com.au whilst our retail and campus stores are closed. Wholesale orders will also continue to be processed during this time as well. On behalf of the team at Beleza, thank you to all of the members of our communities who continue to keep our country safe and supported during these difficult times. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank the teachers, school administration, leadership team and volunteers for your dedication to your students and families, and everything you are doing to reduce the disruption to their education as a result of the coronavirus. We will keep our online store, website, Google listings and School communities up to date to ensure that you will know when it is safe for us to reopen our stores for you to visit. 23.01.2022 Update 22nd June 2020 Principal's Update End of Term - Last day details... Friday the 26th June is the final day of term 2. A staggered finish is still in place.Prep to year 2 students will be dismissed at 2:15pm from their respective pick up points. Year 3 to 6 students will be dismissed at 2:30pm from their pick up points. In line with current COVID-19 restrictions recently tightened, parents please make sure you are not standing around close to others and that you leave the area after picking up your child. This is especially important around the Enfield drive entrance. New BSPS Assistant Principal I would like to say a huge congratulations to Daniel Zielinski who has been provisionally appointed as Assistant Principal of Bayswater South Primary School. Daniel has done a terrific job this term as Acting AP through the trials and tribulations of the home learning period, and I am excited to be working together with Daniel as we move BSPS forward. Reports Reports will be sent home this Wednesday the 24th in a modified 'comments only' format. As per usual these reports will be emailed out through the Sentral system and also available to download from the Sentral Parent Portal. I would remind all parents to make sure we have your current email address and that you have access to the Parent Portal. Please let the office know of any changes by phone. Virtual/remote school assemblies Thank you to all the parents who are tuning in to watch the assemblies online from home. The student leaders are doing a terrific job and we are learning as we go what works and what needs attention. Information and links for the assemblies are emailed out to parents, please join us if you can. Optional Parent Surveys Invitations for parents to participate in both the Maroondah Wellbeing Parent Surveys and the Home/Remote Learning period survey have been sent out recently. Information regarding the Wellbeing survey was emailed out last week, while the Home learning Survey was emailed out previously and has been available for a couple of weeks and closes soon. Completing these surveys gives us valuable feedback into associated school programs so I would like to thank those parents who have already spent the time to complete one or both. Pyjama day Well done to parents, teacher and students for the two Pyjama days and the collection of food products for those in need. There has been a large number of donations which serves to highlight the tough times some people are going through during this period and especially the empathy and support from the BSPS parent community.Thank you very much. Bret Mottrom

21.01.2022 Update 13th April 2020 Dear Parents and Families of Bayswater South Primary School, As you are aware, the situation regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during the early commencement of the Term 1 holidays.... The Victorian Government has now advised that all schools will move to remote and flexible learning when students return for Term 2 on Wednesday 15 April. An email detailing how our school will return to Term 2 has been sent out to families. Please check your email for further information. This means that all students who can learn at home must learn from home. This is a very clear directive by the Victorian Government based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer. This is not an action being taken lightly, and I understand it may cause you and your family concern and stress. Please know this step is being taken to slow the spread of the virus and ensure the health and safety of all Victorians. The link below provides ways you can support your child during this transition. The Department of Education and Training's Learning from Home website also provides information and resources for parents and carers: https://www.education.vic.gov.au//learning/Pages/home-lear Further information regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) and schools can be found on the Department's website, which will continue to be updated as the situation evolves: https://www.education.vic.gov.au//d/Pages/coronavirus.aspx Thank you for your support during this time and please stay tuned for more information from both myself and our teachers. Yours sincerely, Bret Mottrom Principal

10.01.2022 Dear Parents, It was our intention to celebrate our mothers next Sunday by running a ‘Mother’s Day Stall’ at school under very strict social distancing guidelines. We had been informed of other schools in our area doing this and wanted to provide this opportunity to celebrate. Under the assumption if other schools were doing this, it must be allowed under Department of Education (DET) guidelines, we went ahead with the organisation of this event. ... Unfortunately, but quite understandably, we received clarification today from DET that all such events should not go ahead under the current restrictions. Therefore our event will not be going ahead. Sorry Dad’s back to you to organise!!!

We all have a role to play in stopping the spread of COVID-19 in Victoria. Curriculum day Monday 25th - Staff will be planning for the weeks ahead and the staged return of all students back to school. They will also be setting up classrooms and necessary equipment for the junior students' arrival back on Tuesday. On behalf of the staff I would like to say thank you to the parents for the commitment to and communication with the Home Learning undertaken in the BSPS community. The effort and enthusiasm that has been put into some of the work I have seen is amazing. There will be 5 pupil free days from next Monday, July 13 to Friday July 17 for all our students at Bayswater South Primary School. 02.01.2022 Dear BSPS Parents and Carers, As you would be aware, the Victorian Government has made a series of significant announcements about the introduction of new measures to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). These include announcements about a change to arrangements for our school at the start of Term 3.... Here's what we know so far. There will be five pupil-free days from Monday 13 to Friday 17 July for all students This effectively means that the school holidays continue for another week. We are proactive at BSPS and will begin to prepare for a return to home learning in the event that this is announced at a later date. Staff will be working during this time to plan and prepare learning tasks for the new start of term 3 on Monday 20th July. We will await further clarifying information and announcements from the Department Of Education as to how things will proceed this term and inform the community of these straight away. Onsite supervision will be available for families who are in a similar situation to last term's restriction period. More information to follow. The enhanced cleaning of schools and the provision of personal hygiene supplies including hand sanitiser will continue. I know that this may mean uncertainty and another period of dislocation for you and your family. However, these steps have been identified as critical measures to protect the safety of all of us. Thank you in anticipation for the way in which I know you will respond to this challenge and your support of BSPS is greatly appreciated. Bret Mottrom Principal
