24.01.2022 Compliance of measuring instruments 201516 conducted by National Measurement Institute. Potential inaccuracy of retail liquid fuel (petrol and diesel) dispensers often attracts significant consumer concern. In 201516 trade measurement inspectors tested 2925 of this instrument type and found 397 (14 per cent) to be non-compliant, including 187 (six per cent) that were measuring inaccurately. Of those, however, 117 (four per cent) were dispensing extra fuel while only 70 (two per cent) were inaccurate to consumer disadvantage.
