11.01.2022 I advise that a vendor/developer may obtain prior approval to sell new residential dwellings as a development to foreign buyers. Here is the link to the FIRB website where it talks about developers wanting advanced off-the-plan approval: http://www.firb.gov.au/con/real_estate/other/developers.asp Foreign non-residents cannot obtain exemptions for the purchase of residential real estate in Australia. They must notify the Foreign Investment Review Board of their purchase and seek approval for that purchase, unless the developer who they are purchasing from has pre-approval (see link above for further information).
