15.01.2022 Yesterday the children of BCCA had the fantastic opportunity to participate in a community fundraiser, "Fiver for a farmer" ! Dressed in our finest flannies & farming attire, children and educators headed off to Berrigan Public School. After lunch and a play, we joined the school community in watching a video of Jack Berne from Sydney. Jack is the 10 year old boy who came up with the idea to help our farming communities, and he shared how much they have raised so far. The ...drought has had an effect on many whole communities. Cameron Swann, John Lane and Noel Baxter came to speak to the children about how it has effected us here locally in the Berrigan Shire. This session helped our children develop a greater understanding of this issue. Thanks Caz Swann for your part in organising this great event, the children all had a great afternoon !

12.01.2022 Savanake Station Today we visited Savanake Station. The children were excited to see Janice driving our bus again. We met Ann at the gate and followed her to her families beautiful homestead, on the way we saw beautiful forests and farm animals. The children began singing Going on a bear hunt and were very excited.... Ann showed us around her amazing homestead, sharing stories of the Sloan families heritage. The children were able to meet Alex who is Ann’s husband and one of the sons who grew up in the home. The children were able to see many different lifestyle items from prior years, they were amazed at how things have changed. The children were very respectful of their surroundings and listened intentively to Ann’s stories, and asked many questions. After a wander in the forest, looking at a range of trees amd animals habitats, we retired to the logs for a well deserved lunch with Ann and Alex. An amazing learning experience for all of the children. This afternoon we received a email from Ann thanking us for a beautiful day and telling us how amazing, respectful and thoughtful our children were throughout the day.

01.01.2022 Today the children took part in Book Week celebrations, and were privileged to visit Berrigan Public School and take part in their Parade. The Pre-school children were very well behaved and confident up on the stage, speaking into the microphone telling everyone their chosen character they were dressed up as! They enjoyed listening to Mrs. Arnold of Kinder/Year One classroom, read a story she had written and illustrated about herself as a pirate !
