04.01.2022 Semi Final v Port Sorell The sharks were keen to make the bushranger’s path into the GF every bit a battle today. Port batted first and were in some deep water as opener T Downward struck early claiming 3 poles and QVS 1 to have the Sharks 4-22. Veteran Port Batsmen Stansbie and Bieman combined to put on decent partnership to resurrect a battered shark line up. Tight bowling from Payne got the team back on track when he claimed 3-20. Beulah’s fielding was below par at times w...ith several catches dropped but it yielded two run outs much to the excitement of the Beulah Supporters. Port Sorrell were 9/136 off 40 Nijel Downward and young Bucket Smith opened the bushranger’s innings. Smith hit an impressive 40 to top score for the team. The lack of batsmen putting value on their wicket saw Beulah in serious trouble as the sharks begun to circle the wounded bushrangers at 7/100. It was veteran CT Davey who used his years of finals experience to steady the ship. Beulah needed 15 off 18 balls port bowled tight lines coming down to the wire with coach Adrian von Stieglitz combing with Davey to guide the team into the grand finale. We look forward to playing in the Grand Final and it was good to see many supporters there today we thank you for attending to see us play. Yours in Cricket Martin Cash
