25.01.2022 Last night there was a break-in at the building where our BDF Law offices are located. This happened in George Street in the city centre. Although the office part of the building was not damaged I cant say the same for the coffee shop downstairs. There was smashed glass strewn over our joint entranceway and items were stolen from the coffee shop. This is really shocking to hear and sad for the small businesses involved. https://www.facebook.com/tiarnedouble/posts/1576380635717169

14.01.2022 TWL would like to congratulate both Crystal Garwood, (Doolan & Brothers) for her election as the first female President of the Law Society of Tasmania in 13 yea...rs and Sandra Taglieri SC (Derwent and Tamar Chambers) on her election as the FIRST female President of the Tasmanian Bar. Ms Taglieri SC decided to nominate for the role to promote a progressive and modern Bar Association. One which is inclusive and collegial and whose members are encouraged at all times to uphold high standards of advocacy and ethics. Ms Garwood said of her appointment: Words cannot express how proud I am to announce that I was elected the President of the Law Society this morning. I am the first female in 13 years to hold this role and only the third female in the history of the Society. I am thrilled as a young female to have the opportunity to represent and be the voice of the profession! Ms Taglieri SC said Congratulations to Crystal on becoming the President of the Law Society of Tasmania. Its an incredible achievement, very well deserved and recognition of her dedicated service to the Society. As President of the Tasmanian Bar, I look forward to working collaboratively with her in the future. It is satisfying to have, I believe for the first time, women heading up the two peak bodies representing lawyers in Tasmania.
