25.01.2022 We love incorporating dynamic stability in our classes with Chi balls, exercise balls and BOSU’s. Helps with balance, toning, improving body awareness and movement control. Looking strong Mamas and Mams-to-be! #corestrength #pregnancypilates #postnatalexercise @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

24.01.2022 I just don’t have the time to exercise! Does this sound familiar?? When your routine is thrown on it’s head either by caring for a newborn, adjusting to returning to work, juggling school and kindy pick ups or taxiing children to their endless activities it is not easy timetabling your exercise. I know, I have been through all those stages and don’t see my Mum taxiing days finishing for many years to come. More often than not your exercise becomes one of the sacrifices you ma...Continue reading

24.01.2022 Want to see how to convert a pre-pregnancy home workout to a pregnancy one? Videos demonstrate the standard exercise and then a pregnancy modification. Try to keep a few sessions per week of moderate intensity exercise into your calendar through pregnancy and include a couple of resistance sessions in there. We have been away with the kids for a few days so this was a quick 15min workout before we hit the walking tracks of Mount Tamborine. I added the 5min advanced abdominal ...workout that I posted last week before this for a good all-rounder. #pregnancyworkout #pelvicfloorphysio #homeexercises #pregnancysafe abi and joseph WORKOUT 5 ROUNDS 1. 23.01.2022 5 minute Pregnancy Abdominal Workout. Consult your health care provider for advice on exercising through your pregnancy. Avoid any exercise that causes discomfort, breathe holding, abdominal wall doming or pelvic floor pressure. Video demonstrations in comments.

23.01.2022 Thank you to the lovely Sarah who worked with me at our busy Postnatal Screening Clinic yesterday. Sarah is an experienced Physiotherapist currently working in Mater Maternity, busy Mum of 5 and a long term attendee of classes at Be In Blossom. Welcome Sarah. Thanks for trading the leggings for work attire and helping our Mums start their return to exercise journey! #supermum #womenshealthphysio #diastasisrecti #postnatal #brisbanemums

22.01.2022 One of my current clients is offering 10 free newborn shoots (including digital images) to our Be In Blossom community. Contact the lovely Emma if you would like to reserve your spot [email protected]

20.01.2022 Classes are returning on Jan 18th. Our first Mummy Core Restore 4 week program kicks off on Feb 2nd. The morning session is fully booked so we have opened up an afternoon session. If you will be 6 weeks or more at that point and ready to start adding in some exercise for addressing your abdominal wall, pelvic floor support or simple for the enjoyment and social aspect we would love to have you and your baby come along. #findyourtribe #brisbanemums #postnatalpilates #diastasisrecti #pelvicfloorphysio

20.01.2022 Tomorrow is white ribbon day. A chance to recognise the need to make a stance on violence against women. The highlight of 2020 for me was coming together with a bunch of inspiring women in March for Sweat Like a Girl. We used our passion for exercise as a vector to raise awareness and almost $10000 for Rizeup. Only a week after the event Covid hit, escalating levels of Domestic Violence. Show your support by wearing a white ribbon to class tomorrow. If you aren’t attending take a selfie wearing your ribbon in your favourite pilates pose. Send it in and we will create a collage of support. Change can happen. Stand up, speak out. #enddomesticviolence #speakout

19.01.2022 FREE 18 minute Upper back and shoulder stretching sequence put together to assist those who experience tension through these areas related to feeding and carrying babies or with pre-existing tension in this area. Also great for ladies who find they are becoming more rounded with age or if you are looking to improve breathing dynamics. Suitable for pregnant women, however there is a small section lying on your back that should be omitted and some ladies may find the move through rolling down to get onto hands and knees too much of a challenge. Any exercise that feels uncomfortable should be left out. ENJOY! Let us know what you think. https://youtu.be/_Zd86lHiFFU

18.01.2022 School holidays are here on Friday! There will be no classes during week one (Sept 21st-25th) and we will be business as usual week 2. #familytime #recharge

18.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all our superstar Mums, bubs and Mums-to-be. Thank you for your support throughout a challenging year. We feel privileged to walk the journey of parenthood with you. There is no place I’d rather be. #doingwhatilove #feelingthankful #pregnancy #postnatal #physio

16.01.2022 This week’s virtual class links are about to be emailed out. It has been great to see so many of our pregnant and postnatal clients participating in the virtual classes during our break. #virtualworkouts #pelvicfloorphysio #pilatesonline #homeworkouts

15.01.2022 Some choose strawberry ice cream, others choose Pilates. What did you do on this Ekka holiday? @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

14.01.2022 A wonderfully talented Brisbane-based Physio, Lori Forner, is conducting exciting research in the area of prolapse and exercise. This kind of research is going to help us better understand how to keep women exercising, doing what they love after they have had babies. You might be able to help this happen. Contact Lori to see if you are eligible to be part of something great! @loriforner #pelvicorganprolapse #pelvicfloor #brisbanemums

13.01.2022 Our 5 week Readiness to Run Bootcamp Workshops have an evidence-based approach to transitioning back to increasing load and impact post birth instructed by an experienced women’s health Physiotherapist. They include movements with greater complexity, challenging balance and coordination. We work towards an automatic activation of pelvic floor plus explore alternatives when Mums require modifications for reduced impact, pressures or to accomodate an injury. These workshops are suitable for Mums beyond 3 months Postnatal. This is also a great time to have a pelvic floor assessment with a pelvic health Physiotherapist. #choosephysio #postnatal #postnatalfitness #pelvicfloor #pregnancy

13.01.2022 We had two new groups of Mums start classes on Tuesday. Makes my heart sing to see so many new Mums enter the room feeling nervous or uncertain about how they will go and leaving looking relaxed, confident and smiling (even if their bub needed a feed or change). I was especially excited to see this little guy for the first time. His Mum and I have been friends for many years. Made my day extra-special! #mumfriends #postnatal #pilates #brisbanemums #pelvicfloorexercises

13.01.2022 Fancy a real abdominal burn in 5min. This sequence is for advanced ladies without pelvic floor symptoms. Ideally for women who are finding the beginner/intermediate level in class now quite comfortable. Avoid breath holding and doming/coning of your abdominal wall. Stop if the exercise is giving you pain in any joints. Let me know how you go girls! Want more, sign up for the virtual Beginner Postnatal or Advanced General Pilates coming out at 5pm tomorrow. See comments for demonstration videos. The videos are taken where we are holidaying in Burrum Heads. 4 generations of my family have made holiday memories at this beach. #abdominalworkout #pilates #virtualpilates #pelvicfloorphysio #burrumheads

13.01.2022 We have added an extra Mums and bubs Introductory course in September as our usual monthly course filled quickly. Mums need to be between 6 wks and 4 mths post birth. A great opportunity to connect with local Mums and supportive space to begin your return to exercise. #physiopilates #postnatalfitness #postnatalpilates #brisbanemums

12.01.2022 I have really enjoyed choreographing our virtual classes, especially the Advanced Pilates one. I like to play around with sequences and throw a few moves from my dance days in. These classes are 50min long and full of instructions, cues and easier alternatives. We have virtual Pregnancy Pilates and Beginner/Postnatal Pilates to compliment our face-to-face timetable. You have 7 days access to your virtual class. Advanced ladies don’t miss booking in this Sunday. I filmed it this week and it was a great challenge. #virtualpilates #onlinepilates

11.01.2022 For those Mums looking to progress back to running after having a baby, there are now some published guidelines. Tom Goom, Grainne Donnelly and Emma Brockwell published Returning to running postnatal guidelines for medical, health and fitness professionals managing this population. To help our Mums interpret the recommendations I have put together a clip to demonstrate the exercises with reps suggested and some execution tips. Great to have some research-based guidelines available to help Mums get back to doing what they love. We also recommend an assessment with a Pelvic Health Physio when looking at starting back to running. https://youtu.be/dQy762TD8Uw

11.01.2022 2020 has certainly led to innovative ways to attend conferences. Spent the last two days attending the WHTA Childbearing Year Research Update with the incredible @tarynhallam while simultaneously doing the housework, 3 dance runs, kids hair, 3 party runs, grocery shopping and stairs training. #mumlife #onlinelearning #physiolife #pregnancy #postnatal

11.01.2022 There is lots of great awareness going on at the moment around the devastating impact of perinatal loss and grief, spurred by Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's s...haring on the recent loss of their son Jack. October is actually Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. For 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss. 6 babies are born still every day. For those parents who go through this unimaginable grief, many will also experience a longer lasting impact on their mental health and wellbeing. At Peach Tree we strongly feel that there should be no shame or stigma around talking about perinatal loss and grief. We talk about our babies, say their names and and talk about the impact of bereavement. Time may pass, but your love does not. We would encourage everyone to reach out to our community if you are going through tough times with your loss. Our peer support groups have lots of parents who are going/have been though this, and also going through pregnancy and parenting after loss #youarenotalone. 10.01.2022 Our October Mummy Core Restore 4 week Introductory course filled early so we have added a second course. These courses are an ideal starting point for returning to exercise. Suitable for Mums between 6wks and 4mths postnatal. #pilates #WomensHealthPhysio #pelvicfloorexercises

09.01.2022 For those keen to squeeze in some practice at home I saw Meyer at Chermside had the Chi Balls and flatband loops for sale when I was there yesterday. Simple pieces of equipment that you can do loads with. Have you made your Christmas list yet? #pilates #postnatalfitness #pregnancypilates #physio

07.01.2022 What do you like to do on your holidays? I am not one to sit still for long so can’t resist a late afternoon or early morning run, not at pace but just to unwind and soak up the scenery. #burrumheads #holidayrun #metime #postnatal #recharge

07.01.2022 Keep your body moving over the holiday break in our Virtual pregnancy Pilates, Postnatal Pilates, Advanced general Pilates or Circuit classes. #pilates #postnatalworkout #pregnancyworkout #virtualpilates

07.01.2022 Pregnancy Core & Stretch classes merge Pilates moves with resistance apparatus and comprehensive pelvic floor training. Here we are working on upper back mobility and toning. Pregnancy tends to change breathing dynamics to create a more fixed rib cage and rounding of the shoulders. Exercises that encourage sideways expansion of the rib cage, opening of the front chest wall and general mobility in the shoulders and spine help alleviate discomfort and are super useful postnatally to deal with heavier breasts, feeding and carrying your baby. #pregnancypilates #pelvicfloorphysio

05.01.2022 5 minute abdominal workout for Mums who have reached the 6 week mark and are beginning their rehab journey. We recommend having a return to exercise screening assessment if you haven’t already. If you have already been doing some exercise you might like to add 1-2kg weights to exercise 1 and 2. Lee an eye out for abdominal doming/coning, breath holding and back tension which may all indicate you aren’t quite ready for that exercise. Exercise 2 can be made easier by holding onto one knee while you lift the other arm over your head or by doing the overhead arms with the feet on the ground. Demonstration videos in comments. #postnatalfitness #postnatalpilates #rectusdiastasis

05.01.2022 Can’t make it to a class in person? Try our virtual pregnancy, Postnatal/Beginner or Advanced General Pilates class. Link to 50min class available weekly to do whenever you like. #postnatal #pregnancy #pilates

05.01.2022 What a wonderful initiative Peach Tree Perinatal Wellness.

03.01.2022 Thank you to all the beautiful Mums and Mums-to-be for being great company tonight. What a great way to finish birthday celebrations #pregnancyworkouts #pilates #postnatalworkout #postnatalpilates #physio #pelvicfloorexercises

02.01.2022 Today is White Ribbon Day. Let’s end violence on women and girls. Stand up, speak out, show your support. Let’s change conversations with the next generation. I do not want my 3 daughters to be 1 in 4 who experience abuse at the hands of their partner. Show support by wearing a white ribbon to class today or pop a white ribbon in your hair and pull out your fab pilates pose. Post a pic here or send one to me to include in a mural. #saynotodomesticviolence #whiteribbonday

02.01.2022 Just about ready to send out this week’s Virtual Advanced General Pilates class. No need to have withdrawals from missing class during our week of holidays.
