23.01.2022 HELP! It's World Kindness Day and my plan was to shout out all the awesome local businesses who deserve some extra love ... but I don't want to forget anyone (or lots!) So ... HELP ME OUT: Shout out an awesome business on the Northern Beaches and tell me why you love them This by @mandyzieren is still one of my favourites. It started out in our first 'summer exhibition' and we ended up buying it for the walls of our Frenchs Forest space. Pop over to Mandy's insta page for a link to buy more of her gorgeous ocean shots.

20.01.2022 HUMP DAY HOW TO ... outsource successfully Who else has a to-do list that is getting out-of-control or overwhelming? Michael Ossitt is well known in our spaces as the king of outsourcing and automation. When he showed me the manual he had created for his VA, I knew I had stumbled across a whole new world of organisation and asked Michael to share a few pointers on how to outsource effectively: ... 1. TRACK track your week, map out all your tasks that you do regularly, ideally over a month. Use a time log like Toggl or RescueTime to capture everything. 2. REVIEW review your time log and look for repetitive tasks. Analyse the different types of tasks and break them down in to A, B, and C tasks. A tasks are ones that should be done by you as the business owner (planning, strategy, sales, hiring). Things that you are both proficient and passionate about. B tasks are ones that could be done by someone else invoicing, implementation, service delivery. Things that you might not be proficient or passionate about. C tasks are ones that must be done by someone else process driven tasks, research, admin, cleaning, errands (review cost/benefit vs your effective hourly rate). Things that you are definitely not proficient or passionate about. 3. DOCUMENT Document and systemise your repetitive tasks. Start with all the C tasks and then move on to the B tasks. If something is done more than once regularly then create a process. Document it into a checklist, list of instructions, photo slideshow or video walkthrough/screencast. Outline the What, Why, When, Who and How into a single page process document. Use Loom/Camtasia to do a screencast with voiceover. Add all your systems and processes and checklists to an Online Operations Manual using a wiki builder like Notion or Google Sites. 4. AUTOMATE Identify all your processes which could be automated instead of delegated. Ie. Email auto responders (ActiveCampaign), automatic invoicing, calendar booking system (Calendly), app linking and automation tools such as Zapier and Integromat. 5. DELEGATE Delegate all your C tasks first and then your B tasks. Employ a new team member, hire a virtual assistant (Local or Overseas), outsource to a contractor, engage a freelancer (Fiverr, Upwork, Odesk, Freelancer.com). Share your Online Operations Manual with your new team member so they can teach themselves and share a Digital To-do List Manager (like Todoist or Trello) to manage all your deliverables and deadlines. Michael owns STRAND Property Group, leads local business networking group CONNECTWORK and has just been elected onto the board of the Buyers Agent Association of Australia. No wonder he needs to be super organised!! Snappystreet Creative

15.01.2022 Want to know how to get the most out of a coworking space? Make a cuppa! Honestly. It's that simple. ... It's how you meet other members. Find out about them. Hear about what they do. Tell them about your business (note: tell, don't sell ). Create a connection. It sounds simple, but I guarantee you, a casual convo makes ALL the difference. Who knows ... you might even set the foundations to make a new client (or even better, a new BFF) Cuppa anyone? (it comes with a free trial ) See more

11.01.2022 Who do you tell when you do something awesome in your business? Do you have a support crew? If not, tell us what you achieved ... we'll be your cheer squad! After investing in some serious digital marketing training, I learnt soooo much that I told pretty much everyone in our spaces all about it (whether they wanted to know or not ). And it felt amazing to share my excitement and even better to have their support.... So I asked just a few of our members what they achieved this month ... it's a solid list: Marnie Del Beauchamp has launched not 1 but 2 new businesses: Marnie Beauchamp Property and Hive Consulting Co STRAND Property Group was elected as the NSW representative on the Buyers Agents Association of Australia board Michelle Broadbent landed & onboarded 2 new 'unicorn' clients (and wondered if it was newsworthy ... ah YES!!!) 10.01.2022 Does anyone else write something 50 times and still end up not saying what you actually meant? Camille Blyth saw so many businesses struggling with this, and more and more of them spending hours 'blogging', that she launched a business The Brilliant Content Academy to take the stress out of content marketing. I asked Camille (one of our MV members) to share a bit about her business with me: ... Q. What is The Brilliant Content Agency? A. We create ongoing content for service based businesses, most of whom have high value, infrequently purchased products or services. Our main output is written articles but we also do a lot of work around branding such as brand and website updates and video scripts. Q. What do you love about your job? A. I love the freedom to come up with ideas and put them into play. Some of my clients have been with us for 5 years so it’s a case of constantly learning new things, as well as keeping up with the latest trends in content marketing and working out where they might fit best for different clients. As well as this the goal of flexibility and autonomy mean I never really feel like I have a ‘job’. Q. How do you keep the creative juices flowing? A. Necessity is truly the mother of all invention: deadlines, learning new skills and Morning Pages. Other than that, vitamins, sleep and having strict boundaries around work time. Q. Who do you look to for inspiration? A. I stay in my own lane as much as I can. I prefer to spend the weekend gardening and letting ideas bubble away in my subconscious over looking at what other people are doing. Camille has also just launched a FREE course to get your business 'content-ready' for 2021 - click this link here to join her - https://thebrilliantcontentagency.com/free-training-sign-/ @amandamclauchlan

04.01.2022 HUMP DAY HOW TO ... be kind to small businesses Ahead of World Kindness Day on Friday, I thought now would be a good time to list out some ways to be kind to our fellow small business owners... 1. Tell a small business owner why you love what they do... 2. Put a handwritten note in shipped parcels 3. Send out a 'just because' discount code 4. Write positive reviews of other businesses 5. Give a gift with purchase 6. Recommend businesses to your network 7. Introduce complimentary businesses to each other 8. Invite your best customers to an event celebrating their loyalty 9. Shout your customers a coffee or add a few extra stamps on their loyalty card And more than anything? Don’t just do it today because it’s World Kindness Day, do it any day, in fact every day ... there can never be too much kindness in the world! (especially in 2020!) by me of @snappystreetcreative on her camera See more

04.01.2022 For the first time in ages, we have a private office coming up in Mona Vale at the end of this month. It's a lovely big office with natural light and a window you can open for fresh air (or close for aircon/heating!). It has 8 spacious desks with comfy chairs, or we can reconfigure it to 4 desks with a breakout area. There's a big whiteboard for all your blue sky dreaming, plenty of storage and ultra fast internet, of course. Our meetin...g rooms, phone booths and breakout areas are all included in the package, along with pukka tea, coffee, fresh fruit, printing, cleaning, all bills ... everything. It's literally, walk in, get stuck into your work and we'll sort everything else. Sound like you? Come and check it out. DM me and we'll get the conversation started. @snappystreetcreative from the early days when this was a casual desk space rather than a private office. See more
