22.01.2022 Nearly a year ago I gave birth to my beautiful little boy. The past year has been the most wonderful and also challenging year yet! It meant putting myself aside whilst I helped him thrive and responded to his every need. (We don’t have family in the area and I didn’t feel comfortable leaving him with anyone, my husband also works 6/7 days a week). Unfortunately this meant my own training and nutrition was also put to the side. But now it feels like its time to give myself s...ome time back to focus on me. My overall goal is to get back to where I was pre fertility treatment. 72kg (I’m currently 78kg and ALOT fitter then I am. BUT I couldn’t really care about my weight. Instead what I’m choosing to focus on is moving my body several times a week, nourishing my body through lots of whole foods. Its not actually my meals thats a problem, its more my snacking. I’m still breastfeeding on demand and this has lead to me snacking on chocolate WAY too often. So why m I sharing this? I want to tell you that your weight doesn’t matter, but prioritising your own health and wellbeing does. Break this down into small goals and pick ONE thing a week that will get you to your bigger goal. For me this week its training 3x a week, what step can you take this week to move you closer? #resolutions #goals #intentions #bitesize #realistic #timely #beachfit #coogee #sydneypark #doublebay

16.01.2022 What a beautiful, sweaty session we had this morning

16.01.2022 it’s closing in on the end of the first month of 2019. How did it go for you? Did you manage to stick to your 2019 goals? Did you know that the 10th January is the day that most people give up on their New Year Goals? Crazy.... I’m here today to share with you some top tips on setting your goals, or as I like to call them intentions. Setting Intentions is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible Tony Robbins. Step One: Make sure it’s something that you really want. Often intentions are set on expectations of what we believe we should have achieved by now, or milestones that we see other people have set - or sometimes jealousy. These intentions aren’t going to fulfill us. Also, your intentions shouldn’t be something that you think you should be doing, they should be something you want. Take some time out and really delve in. If you are open to meditation, I suggest asking yourself before your meditation: What it is that I really want? Or hitting a yoga class and doing the same. Giving space to your body to let you know what it wants is a great way to not listen to your ego (in short, not the best version of ourselves!). For example, everyone might be quitting sugar, so you feel that you should. Not that this isn’t a good intention to have, but it may look different to you... Maybe you only want to cut out processed sugars? Or maybe you want to cut it out - apart from a fortnightly treat? Your intentions should be individual and important to you, not what’s important to your social group or what’s in vogue. Take some time, go for a walk, hit the yoga mat, or delve into a meditation. Essentially you just need to give yourself some space to breath and listen. Step 2: Visualize them. Meditation is great for this. Alternatively, write it out. If you achieve these intentions what will life look like for you? What will it feel like? What will change for you? One of my favorite exercises is to write out a perfect day. This entails writing out my whole day from waking to going to bed. Who I will interact with, where I will go, who will I train, and what will I eat? Another way is to create a vision board. Grab a pin board, a stash of magazines and images and words that will help you to bring your intentions to life. Continue reading -

13.01.2022 Double Bay Closing. I stopped posting on social media as I found it all so exhausting, inauthentic and to be honest rather pointless. I didn’t want to post for the sake of it, and will post again when I have something sharing! So today I announced the closure of one of our locations, double bay. Double Bay was my first location and I’m so grateful to have had the experience of running a Bootcamp there, but I’ve been trying to be a full time parent, support my husbands growing... business and run my own business and something had to give. Since having Axel my priorities have been shifted. I still love what I do but having a toddler that wakes 8-15x a night takes up abit of time, energy and mental strength, so I have decided to downsize my business. To often social media is about the wins, running a small business is the second hardest thing I have ever done (6 years of fertility treatment and miscarriages trump it!), so I wanted to share the reality of it. It’s the end of a era, and making the decision make me sick to the stomach but I knew it was the right decision for the season in my life that I’m currently in. We have trained so many amazing women there, learnt so much and we are so thankful and sad to say goodbye! Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou xx #doublebay #endofaera #bootcamp #smallbusiness

13.01.2022 Hi everyone, For those of you who don’t know me, let me introduce myself! I’m Yvonne and have been with Beachfit as the Coogee trainer for almost 4 years now - time flies!!... I’m a physiotherapist by background, having worked in sports injury and with the NHS back in the UK. Before that, I worked as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor full time. I moved to Australia in 2015 for 1 year and it’s now 2019..... go figure I’m really excited to be taking the reins at Beachfit. In the 4 years I’ve been with the group, I’ve seen men and women get stronger and healthier, but above all, make fitness part of their everyday lifestyles. So ‘hello’ to the wider Beachfit community, thanks for having me and if you would like to get involved and try a free class with our fantastic group, pop me a message. Yvonne x

12.01.2022 So much of social media is just for the sake of it, so every week (Or mostly every week because toddler!) Photo from where we spent our Christmas - bliss! I’m going to share what we are watching, reading, how we are moving and listening to in the hope that it may be of use to you, and add some value to your life.... Reading - Winging it by Emma Isaccs (Founder of business chicks). This is related to started a business (I have a new venture planting its seeds at the moment) BUT it is so relatable to every area of your life. If you keep making plans upon plans without taking any action you need to read this book. Listening - The goop podcast. Yes Gywneth Paltow - love her or hate her, this podcast is fast becoming one of my favourites. One of my favourite episodes to date is how to create memories that matter. Watching - Just about to start Luther season 5. i don’t watch anything factual or inspiring mostly sorry! Its all about just giving my brain an hour of downtime. Moving - Swimming. I’ve just completed a stroke correction course, and also trying to get my distance up to complete a open water course. What are you loving at the moment?

06.01.2022 As Christmas Eve is upon us, I want to take the opportunity to wish you and your families a Happy Christmas and New Year. 2019 has flown, and with it we've seen: Over 250 Beachfit sessions... Dozens of perfect sunrises About 10 million burpees(!) 2019 has also been a year of changes with Tanya making the move to Byron and me taking on the amazing Beachfit community. Have an amazing Christmas and New Year x

04.01.2022 I love this time of the year, everyone is excited, full of energy and hopefully refreshed after a Christmas break, and from where I’m typing this enjoying sunny nights and lots of surfing and swims. I've left this post until a bit later in January as I find some people have already abandoned their goals, so I'm hoping this reignites them or you if your one of them! Most people have either started their fitness goals with gusto, or are waiting till February when the kids go ba...ck to school to really get fired up. Continue reading -

03.01.2022 SYDNEY PARK CLOSURE. This photo sums up why Sydney Park beachfit location closed today. Since having my son 18months ago, my priorities have shifted and some! My son loves to be cuddled to sleep or to sleep on me, doesn’t sleep longer then a 2 hour stretch at nighttime and generally is a total mummas boy.... Without any family nearby, and a husband that works 12 hour days 6 days a week, my only option was to start him in daycare or get a nanny but so far that hasn’t felt right. So I’ve sacrificed putting the work in on beachfit for being there 100% for Axel. (Which isn’t luxurious as someone put it!) there’s been $ sacrifices, a huge sleep deprivation debt made, and some days I’m losing my mind and think it would be easier to go to work, but this is the decision I have made. He’s only little once. (It’s the right decision for us, but I totally understand why others make different decisions!) I put off the decision for as long as possible but due to trainers, I had to make the call quickly. We had a wonderful community there who will sorely be missed, but I’m so thankful that they trusted us for so long to take care of them. Beachfit coogee, corporate classes and personal training sessions will still continue to run if you’d like to work with us. I’m also excited to dive back in soon, and create something to be proud of .

02.01.2022 FITSPO. Firstly I don’t classify or would want to classify myself as fitspo. I felt it was wrong to use a image of anyone else whilst I shared my thoughts on this. This image was taken off me during a photo shoot for my website. In no way does it represent what I look like before, during or after a workout or heck on a daily basis.... I disagree with the term fitspo as I don’t believe we should be using anyone else for inspiration, and the people who do classify themselves at fitspo (Aside the point but a big pat on the back for believing in how awesome you are and having the confidence to do so!) aren’t usually sharing the real life version of themselves. There’s usually 50 snaps to that 1 you see, angles taken into consideration and hair and make up done and maybes sponsored sportswear. Whilst there’s nothing wrong with that if you do feel inspired by this, just make sure your not comparing your real life to someone’s photo shoot, and are focusing on what’s important to you, not your Instagram account. And finally, find your WHY. What will it mean to you on a daily basis if you achieve your goals? Youv’e got this! Hashtags: #fitspo #personaltrainer # wellness #bootcamp #strong #why #goals #sydney #doublebay #coogee #sydneypark

01.01.2022 Hi BeachFit community You may have already heard of the Viral Kindness Cards, where volunteers can connect with their vulnerable neighbours to SAFELY offer assistance during COVID-19. The idea is volunteers print these, put their name and number on them and drop them in their vulnerable neighbours mailbox. Guidance on how to do this safely is also included in the shared post. ... With increased restrictions on our movement likely to come soon, it's important we make connections with our vulnerable neighbours now, while can still (fairly) freely get out and about. Please get involved in this amazing initiative and make those connections count.
