19.01.2022 PAPERLESS PRESCRIPTIONS HAVE ARRIVED! Due to the COVID-19 crisis, electronic prescriptions have now been rolled out throughout the greater Melbourne area. * Electronic prescriptions are an alternative to paper prescriptions. ... *After a GP consult, a patient may choose to receive an e-script. *The e-script will be sent as a Q-R token via SMS or email. You will receive a token for each medicine prescribed. *The Q-R token gets scanned at the pharmacy. The pharmacist will unlock the prescription details. *If you have been prescribed repeats, you will receive a new Q-R token after each dispensing. *This new token will be required when you need the repeat filled. Your details will be kept confidential & safe. You can still receive paper prescription if you wish. #electronicprescription #electronicprescribing

A smile, a thank you, the relaxed face of a patient finally adhering to their medicine regime, a customer's trust in receiving a painless flu jab, the look of a grateful elderly receiving their medicine delivery and the euphoric joy of purchasing an essential item made scarce from panic buys are a few of the rewards I am honored to have received during these uncertain times. ... Inhaling toxic scents of isopropyl alcohol, glasses fogging up, fax reawakened, email bombardments and an astronomical spike in telephone enquiries has become the daily norm. Preventing medicine shortages, promoting relaxed pharmacy regulations whilst transforming digitally continues to be a great part of my pharmacy practice. 09.01.2022 Did you know your prescription will look different next month? From 1st February, your prescription will have the active ingredient, rather than the brand name of your medication. This mandate will lead to safer use of medicines, especially in the wake of medicine shortages. Exemptions to this include: Hand-written prescriptions; Paper-based residential medication charts ... Medicines with four or more active ingredients; Non-PBS/RPBS prescriptions and; Items from the Excluded List.
